The Developer plans, designs, develops, tests, deploys, and supports scalable, secure, and reliable software solutions supporting core organizational capabilities.\nThis individual applies strong engineering, analytical, and problem-solving skills and leverages modern development practices, automation, and AI-assisted engineering tools to improve software quality, developer productivity, and speed of delivery. The Developer is experienced and self-sufficient in performing responsibilities with limited supervision and general guidance.\nAssist in the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of software applications and services.\nCollaborate with product, architecture, engineering, QA, security, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.\nBuild and maintain APIs, backend services, integrations, and event-driven components as appropriate.\nWork on one or more moderate-to-complex initiatives and contribute throughout the full software development lifecycle.\nApply secure coding, data protection, and engineering best practices throughout the development lifecycle.\nUse AI-assisted development tools, such as GitHub Copilot or comparable activities.\nStay current on emerging software engineering, cloud, AI, automation, and application development technologies. \nQualifications\nWhat’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.\n2+ years of software development experience or successful completion of United DT Early Career Digital Leadership Program (ECDLP).\nProficiency in at least one modern programming language and experience building backend applications or services.\nExperience with RESTful APIs, service integration, and modern application development patterns.\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills.\nStrong attention to detail with an emphasis on software quality.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nDemonstrated eagerness and ability to learn new technologies.\nKnowledge of SDLC processes, engineering standards, software development methodologies, design principles, and design patterns.\nExperience with source control, automated testing, CI/CD, and modern development tooling.\nExperience using or demonstrated ability to effectively adopt AI-assisted software development tools and practices.\nUnderstanding of responsible use of generative AI, including validation of AI-generated code and protection of sensitive or languages and frameworks.\nExperience with relational and NoSQL databases, including SQL, Oracle, and Couchbase.\nExperience with modern source-control platforms and development workflows such as Git AppDynamics.\nHands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or equivalent technologies.\nExperience applying generative AI across the software development lifecycle, including code generation, unit-test generation, debugging, documentation, code modernization, and developer workflows.\nExposure to LLM APIs, AI agents, prompt engineering, or AI-enabled application patterns is a plus.\nUnderstanding of responsible AI, secure AI usage, data privacy, and governance considerations when applying generative AI within software engineering.\nExperience with containerization and cloud-native application patterns.\nExperience with Agile development methodologies.\nExperience supporting highly available, business-critical production applications. \nThe base pay range for this role is $89,965.00 to $117,212.00.\nThe base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills.
