If you want to be part of something essential, be essential with us.\nAbout the role\nThis role is responsible for delivering engineering expertise across the scoping, design, and estimating of distribution, sub-transmission, and substation projects. You will also undertake minor survey works, asset recording, and contribute to the effective management of network assets, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and industry standards.\nThis position is covered by the Powercor & CitiPower & ASU, PA UWU Enterprise Agreement. The salary range for this role is Pay Point 20 ($151,012) - Pay Point 24 ($176,701) + 13% of super + allowances.\n\nKey responsibilities\nProvide effective engineering design and advice in relation to the design of underground lines, overhead lines and substations, to agreed standards, and in accordance with the relevant technical manuals, OH&S Act, ‘Safety in Design’ guidelines and customer requirements.\nVerify designs produced by others in accordance with agreed standards, ‘Safety in Design’ guidelines and company requirements.\nAssist with the development of design standards & policy in accordance with organisational, regulatory, and statutory requirements.\nApply drafting techniques to produce substation, overhead and underground distribution and sub transmission system project plans\nPrepare cost and resource estimates for the design component of electrical distribution/sub- transmission/station system projects in a timely manner and in accordance with Network Services established procedures.\nActively support and implement new or modified processes and systems\nProvide technical expertise and mentoring to design personnel in elements of Design and Design management.\nConsider the commercial/financial implications of all aspects in the provision of products and services to customers in order to maximise profit margins.\nFor more information on the role’s responsibilities, please click here to download the position description.\nWhat you’ll need from day one\nBachelor of Engineering (Electrical)\nEligible and working towards one of the following (or already registered): National Engineering Registration (NER), Registered Professional Engineer of Professional Australia (RPEng)\nEligible and working towards being registered with the Business Licensing Authority (BLA)\nDetailed knowledge and experience in Distribution Design principles and procedures.\nKnowledge of GIS, AutoCAD design (or equivalent), electrical networks, operation, and construction plan\nUnderstanding of Safety in Design practices\nKnowledge of construction methods and techniques through on-the-job experience.\nIf you believe you have what it takes but don’t meet every requirement-or if you’d like to discuss flexible working arrangements to meet the key responsibilities -we encourage you to get in touch.\nKey Benefits\nWe’re proud to offer an inclusive, supportive workplace where everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered to grow.
