We’re essential to them all - and none of this happens without our people.\nAbout the role\nApplications are now open for our Asset Inspection Trainee intake, commencing in early February 2027.\nAsset Inspectors are responsible for inspecting and assessing power poles and associated overhead and underground assets across our network, with the key purpose being to identify and categorise faults, defects, and condition of the poles.\nThis Traineeship will run over a 12-month period, combining formal paid classroom training and field work to enable you to gain the skills, competencies and experience required for an industry recognised certification (Certificate II in Electricity Supply Industry - Asset Inspection and Testing).\nThe role requires someone who is comfortable working autonomously and is willing to travel frequently. During the Traineeship period, our Trainees are required to travel and live away from home in areas all across our network.\nThis role is covered by the Electrix Pty Ltd & ETU Powerline Enterprise Agreement 2023-2026.\nTraineeship eligibility:\nValid Australian driver’s licence\nLive within 30 minutes or 50km from Ballarat depot\nDedication and commitment to working safely.\nAt least one of the following pre-requisites:Units 1 & 2 General Maths and English (Year 11 equivalent); or\nVCAL or VCE Vocational Major; or\nCert 2 in Electrotechnology or equivalent.
