Provide engineering/technical expertise to solve complex problems and provide leadership skills to manage work in a specific area of expertise, with increased latitude for un-reviewed work. Incumbents are expected to have advanced skills and have the ability to work independently.\nProvide transmission line design, engineering, technical support, and oversight to a transmission engineering and design team for the purpose of delivering safe, cost-effective, and quality engineering and design services. Provide technical competency and direction on complex engineering and technical problems for transmission line projects, to include renewable energy interconnections as well as grid modernization opportunities. The incumbent is expected to lead discipline work for projects, perform responsible charge engineering duties, and manage project schedules and budgets. The incumbent will also support proposal development and project cost estimating.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nWith increased Latitude for Un-reviewed work, in the area of expertise will provide:\ncoaches and mentors other Engineering professionals \nreviews work of subordinate Engineering professionals \nengineering/technical expertise and guidance in the identification, analysis, and resolution of problems \neffective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling, and monitoring of work activities \nthorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches \ncontinuous improvement of job-related, engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills, and performance \neffective oral and written communication skills \naccurate records and files \nRequirements\n8 to 12 years’ experience as a practicing engineer or equivalent. \nState registration as a Professional Engineer. \nSkilled in engineering theories and principles. \nSkilled in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations. \nAbility to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. \nGood written and oral communication skills. \nExperience in the utility industry. \nOther Skills/Abilities\nSelf-Motivated \nWork independently \nTeam-Oriented \nCustomer Oriented \nAble to manage multiple tasks and provide leadership to other team members. \nDesired Qualifications\nSkilled in principles of project management \nThe compensation range for this position is between$128,544 - $175,580\nNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
