The role requires hands-on installation experience, practical knowledge of STI, 3M, and Hilti firestop products, and the ability to read and follow UL system drawings and Engineering Judgment (EJ) details.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nInstall firestop systems for penetrations and joints in rated walls and floors as detailed in approved project documents.\nInstall STI, 3M, and Hilti firestop products in accordance with the approved system and product instructions.\nRead and follow UL-listed firestop system drawings and the listed installation requirements.\nRead and follow applicable Engineering Judgment (EJ) details and report field differences to the supervisor.\nInspect openings, penetrants, sleeves, and substrates before installation to confirm they match the approved system.\nMeasure openings and annular spaces; prepare surfaces as required by the approved firestop system.\nInstall backing materials and firestop components, including sealants, mortar, putty, wraps, collars, or pillows as specified.\nApply firestop materials to the specified depth and configuration using the required tools and methods.\nCoordinate access and work sequence with supervisors and other trades.\nInspect completed work for gaps or missed areas and correct installation issues as directed.\nDocument completed work, locations, system details, and photographs when required.\nProtect adjacent equipment, finishes, and installed work from damage or contamination.\nOperate hand and power tools safely for firestop preparation and installation.\nHandle and stage firestop materials in accordance with product instructions and site requirements.\nCheck product labels and condition; report damaged or expired materials before use.\nWork from ladders or elevated surfaces when assigned and use required fall-protection equipment.\nKeep the work area clean and remove firestop waste and debris in accordance with site procedures.\nEnter confined spaces only when authorized, trained, and covered by applicable permit and safety procedures.\nMaintain required work permits and installation documentation as directed.\nFollow supervisor instructions and promptly report questions or field conflicts.\nFollow company and site safety requirements, including required personal protective equipment (PPE).\nPerform other firestop or related construction duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nPrior hands-on firestop installation experience in a commercial or industrial construction setting is required.\nExperience installing STI, 3M, and Hilti firestop products is required.\nAbility to read and follow UL-listed firestop system drawings and Engineering Judgment (EJ) details is required.-\nAbility to compare field conditions with approved details, document completed work, and report discrepancies.\nWorking knowledge of firestop materials, substrate preparation, backing materials, and installation tools.\nAbility to safely use construction hand and power tools.\nAbility to work at heights and use fall protection, including harnesses and SRLs.\nAbility to identify installation issues and support inspection or punch-list corrections.\nAbility to safely lift and carry materials and perform physical construction work.\nAttention to detail when measuring openings and installing firestop systems.\nAbility to work effectively with supervisors, a crew, and other trades.\nAbility to work the required schedule, including overtime and Saturday shifts when needed.\nHigh School Diploma or GED preferred.\nPreferred Qualifications\nFirestop manufacturer training or certification preferred.\nExperience supporting firestop inspections, installation records, or punch-list closeout preferred.\nAdditional Requirements:\nMust have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
