Maintenance Coordinator

The Maintenance Coordinator will assist the maintenance division in keeping the equipment running safely and effectively to meet goals. The Maintenance Coordinator manages all aspects of emergency road repairs to support our professional car haulers.

Job Duties

• Communicate breakdown and repair issues to mechanics in an effort to greatly reduce the downtime experienced when mechanical problems arise
• Arrange emergency maintenance service and follow-up to ensure all paperwork is received in timely fashion.
• Enter all pertinent data into corporate selected program
• Follow-up with terminal to advise of breakdown and provide pertinent data to assist with the rescue of freight
• Aid drivers to coordinate and secure local transportation and lodging
• Accurately document details of breakdowns and repair initiatives, in order to provide sufficient support to the next shift for unresolved or in-process issues

Skills Required

• Ability to work effectively with peers to correct deficiencies and improve processes
• Strong working knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and hydraulic systems,
• Ability to solve problems, exercise good judgment and think quickly under pressure in a variety of situations.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, highly organized with attention to detail and process.
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure to meet deadlines utilizing poise, tact, and diplomacy.
• Ability to learn web-based programs (TMT, OVISS, etc.)
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office
• Maintain a positive safety centered work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which fosters good work ethic and culture to ensure the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma GED or graduation from trade/technical school preferred
• Minimum one year experience working on heavy-duty trucks or coordinating fleet repairs is preferred
