The company is based in Huntington Beach, CA .\nWe are looking for an interim Controller with solid accounting skills to help us run our AIM sports business and our South Norte ready-to-drink cocktail business. Two separate businesses under one owner. The interim period is three to six months with an opportunity to become full-time. This is an entrepreneurial environment where you will be exposed to all financial aspects of the business. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and hit the ground running. You will need to pick things up quickly and move fast.\n The Controller is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations for the AIM and South Norte companies. The position reports to the CFO and supervises the AIM Accounting Manager and the South Norte Finance Manager. This is an in-office position in Huntington Beach, CA.\nKey Responsibilities:\nMaintain separate company books on QuickBooks\nManage the monthly close for AIM and South Norte and develop detailed close schedules for each company\nEnsure that all balance sheets and subledgers are reconciled\nEnsure that proper controls are in place for paying vendors\nEnsure proper recording of employee benefit entries\nOversee intercompany transactions\nReview bank reconciliations for all the companies\nEstablish controls for handling cash and deposits\nManage the revenue recognition process\nPrepare cash flow forecasts\nEnsure annual budgets are loaded into the accounting systems\nEnsure that payroll is processed properly through Paylocity\nManage insurance policies for each company\nMange banking relationships in cooperation with the CFO\nManage fixed assets and leasehold improvements\nEnsure that quarterly sales and use tax returns are filed properly\nManage the year end 1099 process\nManage the 401k annual audit\nProvide financial schedules to auditors and tax preparers\n Five plus years accounting experience required in various industries\nExperience in a project accounting environment preferred\nStrong attention to detail is a must\nAbility to work with a broad range of people\nAbility to analyze and give recommendations on business operations\nSkilled at developing procedures and training staff to follow them\nExperience at managing and mentoring staff\n All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO
