Growing together.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nApply structured, hypothesis-driven problem solving, with guidance, to translate well-defined business questions into analytical approaches\nAnalyze healthcare data from one or a limited number of sources to identify trends and opportunities for improvement across cost, quality, and growth\nSummarize findings into clear, decision-ready insights with a quantified business impact, typically reviewed by a senior analyst before distribution\nSupport stakeholders in a matrixed COE environment by gathering requirements, documenting problem statements, and helping align on priorities\nCommunicate insights clearly to operational audiences; assist senior analysts in preparing executive-facing storytelling\nHelp identify and flag opportunities for optimization for review and prioritization by senior team members\nSupport analytical delivery tasks such as data exploration, feature engineering, and results interpretation under supervision\nCollaborate with data engineering and data platform teams to support data availability, quality, and usability for assigned use cases\nContribute to reusable analytical assets, frameworks, and best practices as directed by senior team members\nEnsure analytical outputs are accurate and reliable, with clearly documented assumptions and limitations\nSupport process improvements to reduce low-value or redundant work\nAssist in educating stakeholders on data-driven decision making and evidence-based practices\nWorks with well-defined, moderately complex issues\nDeveloping as a resource to others within the immediate team\nComply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements\nRequired Qualifications:\nDegree in analytics, statistics, economics, engineering, computer science, or related field\n4+ years of experience in analytics, strategy, or data-driven problem solving\nHands-on experience with SQL, Power BI, Snowflake, and Azure Data Factory\nWorking experience with Python for data extraction, transformation, and analysis\nExperience translating data into insights and recommendations for business or operational stakeholders\nExperience communicating findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences\nExperience working in a cross-functional, matrixed environment\nFoundational understanding of Solution Architecture and Data Engineering concepts as applied to analytics\nProven exposure to GenAI / LLM / RAG (AI) tools and use cases\nProven solid analytical thinking with the ability to work through moderately ambiguous problems with guidance\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with Tableau\nExperience in healthcare analytics (claims, financial, or operational data)\nExperience building dashboards or data products\nExperience identifying and quantifying business impact (ROI, cost savings, revenue growth)\nProven exposure to Databricks / Genie\nProven broader exposure to Azure cloud-based data and analytics platforms\nProven exposure to CI/CD practices in an analytics or data engineering context\nProven exposure to Agile delivery methodology\nProven desire to continuously learn, challenge assumptions, and improve how analytics drives business outcomes\nAt UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
