Growing together.\nThis role will support ECS Strategy Reporting and Analytics by providing empirically sound analyses, testing hypotheses, and leverages advanced reporting to inform strategic decisions. By integrating performance management frameworks and operational reporting, this role ensures ECS can monitor key metrics, identify improvement opportunities, and optimize workflows across all functions.\nYou'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nServe as a Data Scientist supporting ECS Operations reporting and analytics\nCreates and supports standard clinical reporting, ad-hoc detailed analysis, self service reporting solutions\nDevelops new dashboards and tools supporting clinical program performance and program effectiveness\nWorks closely with clinical analysts in support of technical modernization efforts and initiatives\nDevelops and maintains effective working relationships with key business partners, understanding their analytics needs to better anticipate, identify and diagnose problems and make recommendations\nIdentifies and resolves operational problems using defined processes, expertise and judgement\nEvaluates and presents information in a manner that will facilitate leadership's understanding of the results and impact\nIdentifies solutions to non-standard requests and problems\nInfluences senior leadership to adopt new ideas, projects and/or approaches\nProvides leadership with statistical findings and conclusions in analyzing interpreting trends and root cause analysis\nYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.\nRequire Qualifications:\n3+ years of data analysis or data science experience working with large data volumes, disparate relational databases, schemas, and complex business problems\nPrior work experience developing complex analytic solutions leveraging AI/ML technology\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with cloud-computing and analytics ecosystems such as Azure or AWS\nProficiency with distributed analytics frameworks, particularly Apache Spark using PySpark or Scala\nHands-on experience with cloud-native ETL and orchestration technologies such as Azure Data Factory, Airflow, or Databricks Delta Live Tables\nExperience with modern enterprise data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake\nProficiency with Git and version-control practices\nExperience building scalable business reports, dashboards, and semantic solutions using Power BI or Tableau\nExperience developing or operationalizing advanced analytics and artificial intelligence or machine-learning solutions\n*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.\nPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
