Growing together.\nAs a Lead Software Engineer on the OCPN Cloud Platform Team, you will drive the architecture, technical design, development, delivery, and operationalization of cloud-native, resilient, and secure infrastructure across Azure, AWS, and GCP. You will lead cutting-edge initiatives focused on cloud governance, networking, security, and automation while designing scalable backend services and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks.\nIn this role, you will champion modern software engineering principles, robust DevSecOps practices, and AI-powered automation to streamline workflows, strengthen security and compliance, and deliver high-impact cloud capabilities across the enterprise. You will also promote engineering excellence and best practices, including the responsible use of AI-assisted engineering tools.\nYou'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nDesign, architect, and implement multi-cloud infrastructure, networking, and governance frameworks across AWS, Azure, and GCP\nDevelop and maintain scalable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates using Terraform to automate cloud resource provisioning and configuration management\nBuild enterprise-grade backend microservices and automation tools using Java, Go, or Python\nCollaborate with enterprise security and compliance teams to integrate cloud guardrails, policy enforcement, and automated security controls into cloud platforms\nLead the adoption of DevSecOps practices by integrating security scanning, vulnerability management, secrets management, policy enforcement, and compliance validation throughout the software development lifecycle\nEstablish and mature DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines to support automated, secure, and reliable software delivery\nDesign, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions and automation capabilities to address complex engineering and operational challenges, with an emphasis on responsible AI use\nUse enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline software development workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and drive continuous platform improvement\nEvaluate emerging cloud and AI technology trends to inform solution design, technical roadmap development, and strategic innovation\nMentor and guide engineers through technical design reviews, code reviews, architecture discussions, and the adoption of cloud engineering best practices\nYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.\nRequired Qualifications:\n8+ years of professional experience in software engineering, cloud engineering, or a related field\n5+ years of hands-on programming experience with Java, Go, or Python\n3+ years of experience architecting, building, and deploying solutions on public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP\n3+ years of experience authoring and managing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform\n2+ years of experience designing and automating CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows\nDemonstrated experience integrating security, compliance, and governance tools into cloud architectures at scale\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience\nProfessional certifications in public cloud platforms, such as AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or GCP Professional Cloud Architect, or the HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate certification\nDemonstrated experience operating in multi-cloud environments with hands-on expertise across AWS, Azure, and GCP\nExperience using modern AI-assisted development tools to accelerate engineering, automation, and testing workflows\nExperience with DevSecOps and cloud security tooling, such as GitHub Advanced Security, SonarQube, Prisma Cloud or similar solutions.\nKnowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes\n*All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.\nPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment.
