For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office for a minimum of four days per week.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nProvide technical leadership in designing and developing modern, scalable, and high-performance front-end applications using ReactJS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and component-driven architectures \nOwn front-end delivery end-to-end, including UI architecture, development, testing, performance optimization, deployment, and monitoring \nDevelop and maintain Node.js-based backend services to support UI integration, API consumption, server-side logic, and build/deployment workflows \nBuild intuitive, responsive, accessible, and user-centric UI experiences using React, HTML5, CSS3, and modern UI frameworks \nCollaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and backend engineering teams to translate business requirements into efficient, scalable, maintainable UI solutions\nIdentify and resolve front-end performance bottlenecks, rendering issues, and scalability challenges, ensuring a smooth user experience\nLead and mentor front-end engineers, promoting best practices in coding, testing, documentation, and architectural patterns\nEnsure high-quality integration with backend APIs and data services by working closely with Java Springboot and backend engineering teams\nDrive Agile delivery practices to include sprint planning, backlog arefinement, code reviews, CI/CD, and DevOps collaboration\nCreate and maintain front-end technical documentation, including architecture designs, reusable component libraries, and coding standards\nStay updated on emerging Java and Spring Boot technologies, frameworks, and ecosystem trends to continuously enhance product quality and engineering efficiency\nYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear directions on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field \n6+ years of professional software development experience including full-stack engineering\n6+ years of expertise with JavaScript/TypeScript, React Hooks, Redux or other state management frameworks, HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and micro frontend architecture \n6+ years of hands-on experience with React and frontend ecosystems\n3+ years of solid experience developing and deploying backend applications using Jave and Spring Boot and RESTful APIs\n1+ years of experience deploying, managing, and optimizing applications on cloud platforms \n1+ years of solid experience with CI/CD pipelines, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices \n1+ years of practical working knowledge of monitoring and observability tools like Splunk, Datadog, or equivalents\n1+ years of experience with integrating AI/ML APIs and tools (OpenAI, Claude, CoPilot, etc.) into application workflows\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience in the healthcare domain, including understanding of healthcare data workflows and compliance considerations\nHands-on experience with Java Spring Boot, microservices architecture, REST API development, and backend design patterns\nExperience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes\nBackground in performance optimization, application monitoring, and distributed logging\nFamiliarity with DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code, and tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitHub Actions, Terraform, or similar\n*All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.\nPay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment.
