Growing together.\nThe Observability & Monitoring Lead will drive the strategy, implementation, and operational excellence of enterprise observability and AIOps capabilities. This role will be responsible for enhancing service reliability, enabling proactive incident prevention, leveraging AI-driven monitoring solutions, and advancing autonomous operations across applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and digital workers.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nDefine and execute the enterprise observability and monitoring strategy\nImplement AI-powered monitoring, anomaly detection, and predictive alerting capabilities\nLead observability platforms such as Zabbix, SolarWinds, and Splunk\nDevelop dashboards, KPIs, SLIs, and operational health metrics\nDrive incident reduction through event correlation, root cause analysis, and automation\nPartner with application, infrastructure, cloud, and ServiceNow teams to improve service reliability\nLead adoption of AIOps, GenAI, and Digital Worker solutions within operations\nProvide executive reporting, operational insights, and technology roadmaps\nComply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements\nRequired Qualifications:\n12+ years of experience in IT Operations, Monitoring, Observability, or SRE\nSolid experience with enterprise monitoring and observability platforms\nHands-on knowledge of cloud technologies (Azure preferred), Kubernetes, and microservices\nExperience with AIOps, automation, and AI-enabled operational solutions\nProficiency in Python, APIs, SQL, and dashboard development\nSolid understanding of ITIL Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes\nProven excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills\nPreferred Qualification:\nExperience leading global teams and large-scale operational transformation initiatives\nSuccess Measures:\nImproved platform availability and reliability\nReduction in MTTR and alert noise\nIncreased automation and AI-driven operational efficiency\nEnhanced observability coverage across enterprise services\nSuccessful adoption of AIOps and digital worker capabilities\nAt UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
