Growing together.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nEnd-to-end delivery of software solutions, including requirements analysis, architecture review, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support\nLead technical design reviews and provide guidance on architecture decisions, scalability, performance optimization, resiliency, and maintainability\nPartner with Product Management, Architecture, Operations, Security, and Business stakeholders to translate business objectives into scalable technology solutions\nDrive engineering excellence through adoption of best practices in software design, coding standards, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and cloud-native development\nEnsure successful execution of multiple concurrent projects by managing scope, risks, dependencies, timelines, and resource allocation\nChampion Agile and DevOps practices, enabling predictable delivery and continuous improvement across teams\nEstablish engineering metrics and operational KPIs to improve product quality, system reliability, customer satisfaction, and team productivity\nDrive security-first development practices and ensure compliance with organizational standards, healthcare regulations, privacy requirements, and secure coding principles\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define technology roadmaps and align engineering investments with business priorities\nSupport production operations by ensuring effective incident management, root cause analysis, problem resolution, and preventive action planning\nRecruit, retain, and develop engineering talent through coaching, performance management, succession planning, and career development\nFoster innovation by evaluating emerging technologies, AI capabilities, automation opportunities, and engineering tools that improve organizational efficiency\nCommunicate project status, technical risks, delivery progress, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and business stakeholders\nComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline\n9+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years of technical leadership experience\nProven experience in designing and implementing complex software systems\nDemonstrated experience leading software delivery teams using Agile methodologies\nExperience in Healthcare, Dental, Claims Processing, EDI/X12, Eligibility, Provider or Payer technologies\nKnowledge of healthcare compliance, PHI/PII protection requirements, and security frameworks\nTechnical SkillsHands-on experience with React JS and MFE\nExperience with Azure cloud services, Kubernetes/AKS, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices\nHands-on experience with AI-assisted development, automation platforms, and engineering productivity tools\nSolid understanding of software architecture patterns, design principles, security controls, and performance optimization\nSolid expertise in modern application development using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud-native technologies\nProficiency in designing APIs, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and distributed systems\n\nSoft SkillsProven solid analytical and problem-solving abilities\nProven excellent communication and collaboration skills\nProven leadership qualities and a proactive approach to innovation and improvement\nProven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions\n\nAt UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
