Growing together.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nDefine and drive architecture for enterprise-scale applications and platforms.\n\nDesign scalable, secure, resilient cloud-native solutions.\n\nLead development of APIs, backend services, and distributed systems.\n\nEstablish engineering standards, architecture patterns, and best practices.\n\nDrive cloud modernization and platform engineering initiatives.\n\nLead DevOps, SRE, and operational excellence efforts.\n\nConduct architecture reviews, design reviews, and technical governance.\n\nPartner with Product, Security, Infrastructure, and Enterprise Architecture teams.\n\nMentor senior engineers and technical leads.\n\nDrive innovation, automation, performance optimization, and engineering excellence.\n\nRequired Qualifications:\nMust Have\nGraduate - B. Tech and/or MS in computer science or equivalent\n\n9 to 12+ years of software engineering experience.\n\n5+ years leading large-scale technical initiatives.\n\nStrong hands-on Python expertise.\n\nExperience architecting enterprise-scale distributed systems.\n\nStrong cloud architecture experience (GCP/AWS/Azure).\n\nKubernetes and container platform expertise.\n\nExperience implementing DevOps and CI/CD practices.\n\nStrong understanding of security, resiliency, scalability, and operational excellence.\n\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills.\n\nGood to Have\nAI / GenAI Exposure\n\nExperience or familiarity with any of the following is desirable but not required:\n\nLarge Language Models (LLMs)\n\nPrompt Engineering\n\nRetrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)\n\nAI-powered applications\n\nAI-assisted software development\n\nAgentic AI Frameworks\nAwareness or hands-on exposure to:\n\nLangChain\n\nLangGraph\n\nGoogle ADK\n\nSemantic Kernel\n\nMCP (Model Context Protocol)\n\nAmazon Bedrock Agents\n\nCrewAI\n\nAutoGen\n\nAdditional Preferred Qualifications\nHealthcare or regulated industry experience.\n\nEnterprise platform engineering background.\n\nCloud Architect Certifications.\n\nKubernetes Certifications (CKA/CKAD).\n\nTOGAF or Architecture Certifications.\n\nAt UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
