Growing together.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nDevelop and deliver applications using modern UI frameworks and scalable backend microservices under established architectural guidelines\nDesign, implement, test, and troubleshoot software components and features, ensuring quality, performance, and reliability\nDevelop micro-products and services using React / Nextjs for front-end and Spring Boot / Python for backend development\nContribute to building AI-enabled features, including exposure to Generative AI and agent-based workflows, under guidance from senior engineers\nDevelop and enhance user interfaces using modern JavaScript frameworks, with a focus on usability, performance, and maintainability\nWrite and optimize database queries and stored procedures using MS SQL and work with GraphQL APIs for efficient data access\nCollaborate as part of an Agile/Scrum team to deliver new product features and services in iterative release cycles\nParticipate actively in code reviews, following coding standards and incorporating feedback to improve code quality\nSupport and improve CI/CD pipelines, contributing to build, deployment, and automation efforts for cloud-native applications\nBuild automated tests for UI/ backend/ APIs\nWrite and execute automated tests in a TDD (Test Driven Development) setup\nManage test data for Automation\nEngineer solutions that collect and report test results through various metrics reporting tools, example Sonar\nDemonstrate expertise in black box and grey box testing methodologies, experience with standard QA and development tools, and the ability to operate within short release cycles\nDevelop in-depth system and product knowledge\nConstantly evaluate the test automation strategy and approach to identify areas of improvement (i.e. test automation frameworks, dynamic data collection methodologies, coding standards, components and object repository methods, etc.)\nAssist and mentor Automation QA testers in learning and developing automated scripts. The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so\nRequired Qualifications:\nUndergraduate degree or equivalent experience\n10+ years of hands-on experience in application development, with practical exposure to React-based UI, Java/Spring Boot microservices, and API-driven architectures\nExperience contributing to reusable backend services or shared components (such as workflows, rules, orchestration, or data services) that are used by more than one application or team\nHands on Experience with Test automation frameworks - Selenium, Playwright, Cypress or similar\nExperience to define and report Quality Engineering metrics\nExperience to lead and mentor a team of Quality engineers\nGood understanding of building secure, reliable, and scalable systems, including basics of authentication/authorization, performance considerations, logging/monitoring, and supporting applications in production environments\nPractical exposure to applying AI/ML or NLP concepts to real-world problems such as automation, API onboarding an consumption, or decision support, under guidance from senior engineers\nAPI testing/ Automation - Postman/ Rest Assured/ Karate or similar experience\nCross browser testing / automation using Sauce Labs/ Browser Stack or similar experience\nSolid expertise building Scenarios with BDD frameworks - Cucumber, Spec flow or similar\nDemonstrated delivery of solutions that promote code reuse, maintainability, and faster development, beyond one-off or tightly coupled implementations\nProven solid Coding skills - Java/ Jscript, Typescript or similar\nWillingness and ability to learn, collaborate, and receive mentorship, while sharing knowledge with peers and following engineering best practices across platform and AI-enabled components\nDemonstrated ability to design and build test automation frameworks from scratch - choosing right frameworks based on project needs\nDemonstrated ability to work in a flexible/ fast paced Agile environment\nProven solid communication skills, problem solving skills\nAt UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
