Growing together.\nThe Security Operations Center (SOC) Operator supports the Global Intelligence Operations (GIO) by providing continuous monitoring, incident intake, and operational coordination for security events impacting people, facilities, and business operations. This role focuses on real time system monitoring, incident intaking, accurate incident documentation, and structured escalation in support of enterprise security and duty of care objectives.\nOperating within established procedures and response frameworks, the SOC Operator plays a critical execution level role in maintaining situational awareness, ensuring timely response, and supporting 24/7/365 security operations.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nMonitor enterprise physical security systems, alarms, and operational dashboards to identify potential security incidents in real time\nServe as a primary intake point for security incidents received via phone, email, alarms, or system notifications\nTriage security events using established procedures to determine priority, required response actions, and escalation level\nAccurately document incidents, actions taken, and outcomes in designated incident management or case tracking systems\nMaintain awareness of active incidents and provide timely updates during event progression\nRespond to emergency alerts and safety activations (e.g., panic alerts) and initiate appropriate response coordination\nParticipate in structured shift handovers to ensure continuity of situational awareness and incident ownership\nEscalate incidents that exceed defined thresholds or fall outside standard procedures to senior operators or leadership\nAdhere to enterprise security policies, governance standards, and confidentiality requirements\nComply with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and business directives, changes including those relating to work location, team assignments, work schedules, and flexible work arrangements\nRequired Qualifications:\n1+ years of experience in security operations, monitoring, dispatch, emergency coordination, or a related operational role\nExperience working in a Security Operations Center (SOC), Regional SOC (RSOC), or comparable 24/7 operations environment\nSuccessful completion of enterprise background screening, and any additional vetting required to access corporate security systems\nProficiency of the local language of the country were monitoring center is located and English (written and verbal) is required for SOC operator roles globally to ensure consistent communication\nDemonstrated ability to follow established procedures and escalation protocols in time sensitive situations\nDemonstrated ability to operate concurrently across enterprise security monitoring platforms, video analytics, access control and incident management systems to validate, triage, and document alerts\nDemonstrated solid written and verbal communication skills suited to operational documentation and coordination\nDemonstrated high attention to detail and accuracy when handling security related or safety impacting information\nProven ability to work effectively in a fast paced, shift based environment\nSkillsets and Competencies:\nReal time security monitoring and alarm response\nStructured incident intake, triage, and escalation\nOperational documentation and case management\nClear, concise, and professional communication\nAdherence to procedures and operational discipline\nTask prioritization and multitasking under pressure\nSound judgment within defined response frameworks\nTeam collaboration in a 24/7 operations center environment\nAt UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
