Growing together.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nLead the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise applications using Trizetto Facets, SQL, Python, Java, or equivalent technologies\nProvide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams, promoting best practices in software development, code quality, and system design\nDrive architecture discussions and contribute to the design of scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable applications\nDevelop clean, reusable, and maintainable code while establishing coding standards and engineering best practices\nDesign, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, database objects, and data access layers to support business-critical applications\nDesign and develop RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration solutions across enterprise platforms\nCollaborate with architects, product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define technical solutions aligned with business objectives\nLead cloud adoption initiatives and support the deployment, monitoring, scalability, and operational excellence of applications in cloud environments\nDesign, implement, and enhance CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar platforms\nChampion DevOps practices including source control management, automated testing, release management, infrastructure automation, and continuous delivery\nEvaluate and leverage AI/ML and Generative AI technologies to improve engineering productivity, business processes, and customer outcomes\nMentor junior and mid-level engineers through technical coaching, code reviews, design reviews, and knowledge-sharing initiatives\nEnsure adherence to security, compliance, performance, and reliability standards throughout the software development lifecycle\nLead production support activities, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures to improve system stability and performance\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on engineering excellence, automation, operational efficiency, and innovation\nCommunicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing regular updates on technical solutions, risks, and project status\nTechnical leadership and mentoring responsibilitiesEmphasized solution architecture and design ownership\nAdded stakeholder management and technical decision-making\nIncluded end-to-end delivery accountability\nElevated cloud, DevOps, and AI/ML expectations from exposure to practical leadership and implementation\nFocused on enterprise-scale application development rather than individual contributor tasks alone\n\nComply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, MCA, or equivalent\n8+ years of experience in software design, development, and delivery of enterprise applications\nSolid hands-on experience with Trizetto Facets, SQL, Python, Java, or equivalent programming languages and frameworks\nProven experience designing and developing scalable, maintainable, and secure enterprise-grade software solutions\nSolid experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems\nExperience working with cloud platforms and cloud-native application architectures\nHands-on experience implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or equivalent technologies\nExperience leading technical initiatives and influencing architectural and engineering decisions\nSolid understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design principles, design patterns, and application security best practices\nSolid understanding of Agile, Scrum, and modern SDLC methodologies\nUnderstand business requirements, application architecture, and enterprise systems to design and deliver scalable, high-quality solutions\nSolid proficiency with Git-based source control and modern software development practices\nProven deep expertise in SQL, including performance optimization, database design, data modeling, and troubleshooting\nProven exposure to AI/ML concepts, Generative AI, LLMs, intelligent automation, or AI-assisted software development\nProven excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills\nProven solid stakeholder management, collaboration, and communication skills\nDemonstrated ability to mentor engineers and drive technical excellence across teams\nDemonstrate ownership and accountability for end-to-end delivery of strategic technology solutions\nPreferred Qualifications:\nAzure, AI, Cloud, DevOps, or Architecture-related certifications\nExperience integrating AI/ML solutions using frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, LangChain, Azure AI Studio, or similar platforms\nExperience with Docker, Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native application development.\nExperience designing and implementing scalable microservices-based architectures.\nHealthcare and Trizetto Facets domain experience\nExperience leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering large-scale enterprise transformation programs\nFamiliarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools and DevOps automation practices\nAt UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
