Our machine-vision platform helps manufacturers detect complex defects, automate inspection, and improve production quality in applications where conventional vision systems fall short.\nWe are expanding into emerging, high-growth markets-including AI data-center infrastructure and next-generation AI hardware-and are looking for a business development leader to help establish UnitX as a strategic partner to the companies defining these industries.\nRole Overview\nWe are looking for a hands-on Mechatronics Engineer to design and build robotics prototypes and 3D vision products for industrial applications.\nYou will work across mechanical design, electromechanical integration, sensors, motion systems, and prototyping, turning early concepts into functional and reliable systems.\nResponsibilities\nDesign and build robotics prototypes, including mechanisms, fixtures, end effectors, electrical, pneumatics, and sensor integration.\n\nDesign mechanical and electromechanical components for 3D vision products.\n\nIntegrate robots, motors, actuators, sensors, cameras, and control hardware.\n\nRapidly prototype, test, and iterate on new product concepts.\n\nTroubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues.\n\nDesign for performance, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.\n\nSelect and work with vendors and manufacturers to procure and fabricate components\n\nWork closely with robotics, vision, AI, software, and hardware teams.\n\nSupport transition from prototype to engineering validation and production.\n\nQualifications\nBS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or related field.\n\n3+ years of hands-on electromechanical or robotics product development experience.\n\nStrong mechanical design and CAD skills.\n\nExperience with motors, actuators, sensors, mechanisms, and motion systems.\n\nStrong prototyping, assembly, testing, and debugging skills.\n\nAbility to work across mechanical, electrical, and software boundaries.\n\nStrong ownership and ability to independently turn concepts into working prototypes.\n\nPreferred\nRobotics, industrial automation, or machine vision experience.\n\nExperience integrating industrial robots or collaborative robots.\n\nExperience with 3D cameras, structured light, stereo vision, LiDAR, or other 3D sensing technologies.\n\nExperience with GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFM/DFA, and prototype-to-production development.\n\nExperience with control theory for robotic arms and object tracking.\n\nWhy Join UnitX\nThis role offers the opportunity to accelerate human productivity through robotics in manufacturing.
