You'll take ownership of design activities, working across the full product lifecycle from initial concept through to manufacture, testing and continuous improvement.\nUnlike larger organisations where roles can become siloed, this position offers the opportunity to be heavily involved in all aspects of the design process, working closely with production, suppliers and customers to develop practical, robust engineering solutions.\nFor an ambitious Design Engineer, this role also offers genuine long-term progression, with the potential to build and lead a design function as the business continues to develop.\nThe Role\nCreating 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software and Autodesk Fusion\nDesigning and developing new products and improving existing designs\nProducing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical documentation\nEnsuring designs meet strength, weight, safety and compliance requirements\nWorking closely with production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges\nSupporting prototype builds, testing and product development activities\nLiaising with suppliers to specify materials and components\nManaging engineering changes and document revisions\nContributing ideas that improve efficiency, manufacturability and product performance\nAbout You\nWe're keen to speak with practical, hands-on Design Engineers who enjoy seeing their designs brought to life.\nYou will ideally have:\nExperience as a Design Engineer, Mechanical Design Engineer or similar\nStrong CAD experience, including Autodesk Fusion\nKnowledge of fabrication, welding, sheet metal or structural steel design\nThe ability to create and interpret technical engineering drawings\nA practical approach to problem solving\nExperience working within a manufacturing environment\nDesirable Experience\nTrailers, commercial vehicles, agricultural equipment, plant machinery or other fabricated products\nVehicle regulations, standards or type approval knowledge\nFEA or design validation experience\nDegree, HNC, HND or equivalent Engineering qualification\nThe Person\nThe successful candidate will be a proactive and self-motivated individual who enjoys working within a close-knit team environment.\nYou'll be someone who takes ownership, rolls your sleeves up when required and is happy working in a business where everyone contributes to the success of the wider team.
