Upon successful completion of both Ground and Hostler training, employees will advance into a Hostler Driver position, operating hostler trucks responsible for moving containers, trailers, and chassis throughout the terminal.\nEmployees with prior heavy equipment experience, such as operating side loaders, forklifts, hostler trucks, cranes, or other industrial equipment, may be eligible for advanced equipment training. As employees successfully complete training and certification on each piece of equipment, they will become qualified to operate additional heavy equipment within the terminal, creating opportunities for career growth, increased responsibilities, and expanded skill development.\nWhat You'll Do\nGround Person Responsibilities\nDirect crane operators during loading and unloading operations\nInstall and remove inter-box connector (IBC) locks\nClimb railcars and set derailers\nVerify container and chassis placement\nAssist with rail yard operations and safety procedures\nCommunicate with equipment operators and terminal personnel\nHostler Driver Responsibilities\nOperate hostler trucks within the rail yard\nMove containers, trailers, and chassis throughout the terminal\nSpot equipment for loading and unloading\nPerform equipment inspections\nFollow all company and customer safety procedures\nCrane & Heavy Equipment Operator Responsibilities\nOperate cranes, side loaders, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment\nSafely load, unload, and position containers and freight\nSecure loads using proper rigging and load-handling procedures\nConduct pre-trip and routine equipment inspections\nSupport shipping, receiving, and intermodal operations\nFollow eRailSafe, OSHA, and company safety standards\nWork closely with team members to maintain efficient yard operations\nQualifications\nRequired\n18 years of age or older\nValid Driver's License\nAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditions\nAbility to lift up to 50 pounds\nAbility to stand, walk, bend, climb railcars, and perform physical labor throughout the shift\nStrong attendance record and reliability\nCommitment to workplace safety\nPreferred\nCandidates with experience in any of the following areas are encouraged to apply:\nHostler truck operation\nCrane operation\nHeavy equipment operation\nConstruction\nWarehouse operations\nShipping & Receiving\nLogistics and transportation\nRailroad operations\nTruck driving\nMilitary experience\nForklift operation\nRigging and load securement\nIndustrial equipment operation\nNo rail yard experience required.
