As a leading employer we recognize that our employees are our greatest strength as they form our vision, carry out our mission and represent our values.\nDuties\nPerform high-speed cell sorting on behalf of biomedical researchers using instruments such as the BD FACSAria Fusion, BD FACSymphony S6, and Sony MA900 in a Containment Level 2 laboratory.\nSupport the operation and maintenance of analytical flow cytometers, including the LSRFortessa, FACSymphony A3, and FACSymphony A5 SE.\nPerform routine instrument quality control and maintenance, including daily calibration, fluidics and electronics checks\nTrain graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, research technologists, and other facility users in the safe and effective operation of analytical flow cytometers.\nProvide guidance and training in flow cytometry data analysis using FlowJo and other specialized software packages.\nProvide technical support to facility users, including experimental guidance and instrument troubleshooting, while fostering effective relationships with researchers and other clients.\nSupport facility operations by maintaining safe laboratory practices, evaluating new and alternative cytometry techniques, and ensuring appropriate backup and management of facility data.\n At minimum, a Bachelors degree in biomedical sciences or recognized equivalent requiredMasters is preferred\n\nAt minimum, three (3) years of experience with a variety of flow cytometry applications, preferably on newer digital analytical flow cytometers, and with flow cytometric software such as Diva and FlowJo\nExperience operating a FACSAria or other cell sorter preferred\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and a demanding schedule\nAbility to work within a busy core facility with tight deadlines\nSuperior interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal\nExcellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.\nExceptional customer service skills\nStrong team player with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision\n Why join UHN?\nIn addition to working alongside some of the most talented and inspiring healthcare professionals in the world, UHN offers a wide range of benefits, programs and perks.
