The Project Manager is responsible for supporting project activities, solving problems, and escalating risks for support. Working within portfolios focused on advancing new models of care and digital enablers across the health system, the successful candidate will lead projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, implementation, evaluation, adoption, and sustainment. Strong organizational, communication, interest-holder engagement, and change management skills, combined with sound technical acumen, are essential to coordinate diverse interest-holders and achieve project outcomes. The Project Manager will thrive in an interdisciplinary environment, navigate ambiguity with confidence, bring clarity to complex challenges, and foster collaboration among clinical, operational, and system partners to deliver transformative healthcare solutions.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nEstablish project plans to articulate time, budget, resources, scope, and risks in projects, and manage project activities and documentation\nRegularly engage with project sponsors and interest-holders to collect requirements and to ensure success through project lifecycle\nLead complex, large scope projects throughout project life cycle, managing multiple projects and priorities concurrently with the ability to reshuffle priorities as they shift with guidance and collaboration with Senior Project Manager\nApply change management and communication strategies to multiple interest-holders and organizations throughout projects\nProactively sense-make complex workflows/processes/situations. Demonstrate an excellent ability to summarize key information in a succinct way to foster collaboration, overcome barriers, or address any complications\nManage risks by balancing interest-holder expectations, project scope, and taking early action to resolve problems, and escalate risks in a timely and concise manner to Senior Project Manager with proposed solutions for discussion\nSuccessfully adapt communication style based on interest-holder needs/interests and digital maturity (e.g. acute care senior leadership, primary care networks, clinicians, Ontario Health colleagues, etc.)\nDevelop, mentor, and coach other team members and provide real-time and formal developmental feedback on an on-going basis\nBuild credibility and foster relationships with peers, managers and interest-holders\nHandle unusually complex problems by breaking them down into their component parts and recommending innovative and creative solutions that will achieve quality and work process improvements and improve future decision-making\nWork in a self-directed manner, ensuring successful completion of milestones, objectives, deliverables, and achieving long-term desired results\nDevelop and present material for review and informational purposes using excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills, with the ability to express complex technical concepts effectively\nStay up to date on industry news to support new project proposals\n Undergraduate Degree in Science, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Business or related field is required\nMaster’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or related field is preferred\nProject Management Professional (PMP) designation and Change Management Certification are assets\nMinimum 3-5 years Healthcare Project Management experience as a Project Manager preferred\nComprehensive knowledge of project management (project planning, implementation, evaluation, risk assessment, benefits realization) and change management methodologies\nKnowledge and experience in developing and executing communications and adoption plans (e.g., interest-holder analysis, communication strategies and tactics, awareness campaigns, gathering user feedback)\nApplicable industry experience in leading projects that support client groups such as Health Care, Pharmaceutical, Finance, Human Resources, Education, Telecommunications etc.\nExcellent interpersonal and client relationship skills\nSupervisory or managerial experience preferred\nAnalytical ability with excellent attention to detail\nExcellent risk management skills\nExperience leading vendor management and contract negotiations preferred\nStrong presentation, writing, and/or training skills\nExcellent time-management and organization skills (self-directed)\nExcellent team building skills, listening, coaching, group facilitation, and conflict resolution skills\nProficient use of computer, software, and peripheral equipment, i.e., Windows, MS Office, MS Mail/Outlook, MS Project\n In addition to working alongside some of the most talented and inspiring healthcare professionals in the world, UHN offers a wide range of benefits, programs and perks.
