UHN is a research hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto.\nUHN’s vision is to build A Healthier World and it’s only because of the talented and dedicated people who work here that we are continually bringing that vision closer to reality.\nwww.uhn.ca\n Union: Non-Union\nNumber of Vacancies: 1\nNew or Replacement Position: New\nSite: Princess Margaret Cancer Centre & Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Lodge\nDepartment: Facilities Management - Planning, Redevelopment & Operations\nReports to: Manager, Facilities Operation\nSalary Range: $81,505 to $110,000 annually\nShifts: Mon - Fri (8:00am - 4:00 pm); on-call requirement 24/7\nStatus: Permanent Full-Time\nClosing Date: October 6, 2026\nPosition Summary:\nIn compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations as well as current construction safety/Infection Prevention and Control Guidelines as outlined in various documentation such as the Canadian Standards Association, the principal responsibilities of the Supervisor, Facility Management include: providing direct supervision to the Facilities Management staff, provide an operational reference point for Project Team Staff (internal or external); performing quality management responsibilities; performing financial management responsibilities; performing planning responsibilities including providing a direction to create an equipment/building renewal priority list; performing personnel development functions to maintain a productive work environment; performing corporate management functions; accountability to maintain a compliance program for operational equipment and staff safety training, performing other duties consistent with the job classification assigned or requested by the Hospital management representatives.\nDuties:\nDirects and controls the activities and quality of services provided.\nCoordinates workloads, assigns work duties and tasks, checks, inspects and monitors activities of assigned employee. Completes employee evaluations for assigned employees on a schedule determined by the Hospital utilizing a diversified workforce.\nBackfills Manager, Facility Operations when required.\nReviews work in progress, checks and inspects as necessary for conformance to job specifications and with Federal, Provincial, and Municipal requirements, regulations and standards; instructs personnel when performance does not comply with standards.\nProvides direct supervision to front line staff.\nPerforms quality management responsibilities.\nPerforms financial management responsibilities.\nPerforms planning responsibilities including formulating a strategic infrastructure renewal recommendation.\nPerforms personnel development functions to maintain a productive work environment.\nPerforms corporate management functions.\nWorks in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contravention’s of the Act, in a timely manner\nPerforms planning responsibilities including formulating a strategic infrastructure renewal recommendation.\nPerforms personnel development functions to maintain a productive work environment.\nPerforms corporate management functions.\nWorks in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contravention’s of the Act, in a timely manner.\n At minimum, completion of a 2 year community college program leading to a trade certification in Electrical, Millwright, Carpentry or Plumbing or recognized.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of maintaining multiple communication channels.\nAbility to implement sustainable/beneficial change.\nAbility to coordinate many activities concurrently.\nAbility to handle emergency and/or crisis situations effectively and efficiently.\nAbility to use all tools/equipment common to the trades.\nAbility to perform the physical requirements of department staff positions for training and demonstration purposes.\nDemonstrate and maintain a working knowledge of Hospital accreditation requirements, industry standards, Hospital policies and procedures, financial control principles, Workplace Hazardous Material Information Systems, Occupational Health & Safety Act, Infection Prevention and Control Standards and environmental waste management regulations.\nDemonstrate experience and working knowledge in facilities management within a healthcare environment, ensuring efficient and compliant infrastructure and support services\nComputer literate in Microsoft Office with the ability to generate spreadsheets and reports as well as creating simple drawings with Microsoft Visio or equivalent. Ability to read blueprints and Technical drawings and manuals.
