The role also contributes to enterprise technology initiatives by collaborating with UWIT teams and campus partners on projects involving Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Canvas, MyUW, and other integrated services. In addition, the Productivity Platforms Engineer serves as a technical resource and educator, helping members of the UW community, peer institutions, and technology vendors better understand and effectively use these productivity platforms.\nThis is an essential position and is required to report to work remotely when UW suspends operations.\nKey Responsibilities\n(60%) Administration, Automation, and Reporting\nCreate, manage, monitor, and optimize Azure resources as needed.\nAdminister and support Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Google Workspace environments, including user provisioning, licensing, access management, governance, security, and platform configuration.\nComfortable working with cloud data sources such as Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Blob Storage, Dataverse, and other Microsoft 365 data services.\nComfortable working with PowerShell and automation technologies in cloud environments, including Azure Functions, Azure Automation, Microsoft Graph, and Power Platform administration.\nUnderstand how integrations with Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Google Workspace, and third-party applications work, including application registrations, authentication, authorization, and API-based integrations.\nCreate and maintain automation, reporting, and monitoring solutions to improve operational efficiency and provide actionable insights.\nMaintain system, platform, and data security in accordance with UW policies and Productivity Platforms team practices.\nSupport identity, access, compliance, and governance requirements across Azure, Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Google Workspace environments.\n(30%) Tier 3 Support and Incident Management\nMonitor UW Connect assignment groups and ensure incidents, requests, and service tickets are triaged, assigned, and addressed in accordance with UWIT policies, procedures, and service expectations.\nCommunicate with users about state of requests or issues, and work with them to gather any needed details\nCreate, monitor, and escalate support request with Microsoft and Google as needed to address requests and incidents\nParticipate in on-call support rotations and respond to after-hours escalations to help maintain service availability and operational continuity.\n(10%) Organizational Participation and Collaboration\nAttend and actively participate in team, department, and organizational meetings.\nContribute to team initiatives, knowledge sharing, process improvement efforts, and cross-functional collaboration activities.\nMaintain awareness of emerging technologies, platform enhancements, and UWIT priorities through ongoing engagement with organizational activities and professional development opportunities.\nOther duties as assigned.\nRequired Qualifications\nTo be considered for this opportunity your application must demonstrate you meet both the minimum qualifications and additional qualifications listed below. Likewise, this position has regular stringent deadlines revolving around the academic calendar that may require extended work hours.
