Job Summary:

The Wisconsin School of Business (WSB) at UW-Madison is a globally recognized business school, conducting cutting-edge research and delivering market-responsive degrees. Under the supervision of the HR Manager, this role serves as the primary HR liaison for assigned departments providing comprehensive consultation in recruitment, compensation, titling, and workforce planning for a variety of employment categories. This position advises on human resources policies, procedures, best practices and employment laws.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as a consultative Human Resources resource and liaison. Interprets, advises on, applies and disseminates complex policies, procedures, and options to leadership and employees; and recommends best strategies according to established objectives and goals
  • Develops and implements processes and procedures for one or many various HR functions such as employee trainings, recruitments, compensation, and payroll
  • Facilitates and processes complex transactions and programs according to established policies and procedures
  • Receives and responds to inquiries in-person, via email, and through various communication mediums and relays information to appropriate entities
  • Audits human resources reports to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Contributes to the development of strategic plans and directs staff implementation of initiatives in alignment with strategic goals

Compensation:

The minimum salary for the position is$65,000.Actual starting salary will be based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • At least oneyear of professional experience in one or more human resourcesareas

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience serving as an HR Business Partner or in a similar advisory role

  • Experience working within a higher education institution or other complex organization.

  • Experience with Workday.

  • Experience in developing, documenting, implementing, and improving HR-related processes.

  • Experience developing reports and analytics using various systems and software.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team setting to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree Required - Preferably in Human Resources, or a related field (Communications, Psychology, Business, Public Administration, etc.)

  • Current Professional HR certification preferred
