Universal Stainless produces semi-finished and finished specialty steel long products and plate including stainless steel, tool steel, bearing steel, gear steel, and aircraft quality low alloy steels for use in a variety of industries.\nUniversal Stainless is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer (Electrical) to support engineering, maintenance, operations, capital projects, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement at our Bridgeville, PA facility.\nThe Maintenance Engineer will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will work closely with Maintenance, Operations, plant management, contractors, and the Corporate Engineer. This position will be responsible for supporting maintenance, planning and executing assigned projects, supporting equipment reliability, troubleshooting complex industrial equipment, and helping improve plant performance.\nThis is a hands-on engineering position requiring regular presence throughout an active steel mill and heavy industrial manufacturing environment.\nBasic Responsibilities:\nSupport the maintenance team with technical electrical expertise during routine repairs, planned/unplanned outages, and preventative maintenance routines. \nPlan engineering priorities, schedules, and project activities based on production requirements, equipment failures, and direction from management\nDevelop project plans including scope, schedules, budget estimates, resource requirements, and risk identification.\nMonitor and control expenditures and project spending.\nCoordinate projects with contractors, Maintenance, Operations, and Engineering departments\nDirect and manage onsite contractors involved in engineering and project execution\nProvide engineering support for new equipment installations, equipment upgrades, and process improvements\nProvide hands-on troubleshooting of complex integrated electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and industrial equipment. \nIdentify equipment reliability issues and work with the Preventative Maintenance Engineer to develop corrective actions\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on equipment performance, reliability, safety, and operational efficiency \nManage and coordinate major plant electrical outages with Maintenance, Operations, and contractors\nCoordinate equipment rebuilds and repairs performed on-site and off-site\nDevelop and maintain outage schedules\nSupport compliance with company safety policies as well as applicable industrial safety requirements during maintenance outages and major projects for both employees and 3rd party contractors\nApply Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles \nPerform other duties as assigned\nSafety-Sensitive Position\nTHIS IS A SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION.
