This is a physically active role in a heavy industrial environment requiring teamwork, attention to detail, and strict adherence to safety procedures.\nKey Responsibilities\nEquipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate steel production equipment and machinery.\nMaterial Handling: Load, unload, and transport steel materials, including coils, bars, sheets, and structural components.\nQuality Assurance: Perform routine quality inspections using precision measuring tools and devices.\n Operational Execution: Follow production schedules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety guidelines.\nMaintenance & Setup: Assist with machine setup, product changeovers, and routine preventative maintenance.\nPlant Maintenance & Continuous Improvement: Maintain a clean, organized work area and collaborate across teams on plant-wide 5S projects.\nTeamwork: Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to achieve daily production targets.\nQualifications\nEducation: High school diploma or GED preferred.\nExperience: Prior manufacturing or industrial experience preferred but not required.\nTraining: Willingness to complete company-paid training programs.\nKey Traits: Strong work ethic, dependability, and an uncompromised commitment to workplace safety.\nAvailability: Ability to work assigned shifts, mandatory/voluntary overtime, and weekends as required.\nGood attendance is vital.\nPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions\nLifting: Ability to regularly lift to 50 lbs.\nStamina: Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout an extended shift.\n Environment: Heavy industrial plant environment (loud noise levels; exposure to seasonal temperatures-hot in summer, cold in winter).\n Safety: Ability and willingness to always wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).\nUniversal Stainless is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
