As part of the international Unum Group, we’re on a collective mission to help the working world thrive.\nThe role\nWhat will you be doing?\n•Support the delivery of a range of actuarial activities, analyses and projects across the business.Develop an understanding of how actuarial insights support business performance, decision-making and risk management.\nTake ownership of tasks and deliver high-quality work with accuracy and attention to detail.\nContribute to projects aimed at improving processes, systems and ways of working.\nMaintain clear and accurate documentation of actuarial methodologies and processes.\nWork closely with colleagues across Finance, Risk and the wider business, developing your communication and stakeholder management skills.\nLearn about the regulatory environment in which we operate, including Solvency II and broader risk management frameworks.\nBuild technical expertise through a combination of on-the-job experience, formal study support and professional development opportunities.\nProgress towards qualification through our actuarial study support scheme.\n•This is a fantastic opportunity to launch your actuarial career within a supportive and collaborative team, gaining exposure to a broad range of actuarial work while studying towards professional qualifications.\nWhat will you bring?\nWe're looking for talented graduates who are curious, analytical and excited to build a career in actuarial science.\nYou'll ideally have:\nA degree in a numerate subject, achieved at 2:1 level or above.\nA strong academic record, including A-Level Mathematics (or equivalent).\nExcellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.\nStrong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate work.\nAn interest in developing a career within the actuarial profession.\nGood communication skills and the ability to explain information clearly and confidently.\nThe ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to deadlines.\nA proactive and inquisitive mindset with a willingness to learn.\nExperience using Excel; exposure to programming languages such as Python, R or VBA would be advantageous but is not essential.\nAny actuarial internship, placement year or relevant work experience would be beneficial but is not required.\nLocation\nHybrid working. 3 days in office , 2 days from home.\nA minimum of 2 days a week from our Dorking office and option to work the third from a choice of offices in Dorking, Basingstoke & London.\nBenefits\nPerformance based incentive 8.5% (Paid in March)\nCompany funded Life Assurance and Group Income Protection\nPension Scheme with generous company match -
