Join us.\nGeneral Summary:\nThe Senior Software Engineer - ServiceNow will provide technical leadership for Unum's ServiceNow platform, with a focus on Configuration Management, ITOM Discovery, Service Mapping, enterprise integrations, and data governance. This role will play a central part in a multi-year initiative to align ServiceNow with CSDM 5, improve service visibility and data quality, and integrate with strategic platforms including Application Portfolio Management (APM) and Technology Business Management (TBM) solutions.Working closely with Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, Architecture, and Application teams, this individual will design and implement scalable ServiceNow solutions, optimize Discovery and Service Mapping capabilities, and establish trusted technology and service relationships that support operational resilience, compliance, and business decision-making across the enterprise.\nJob Specifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent relevant experience.\n6+ years of software engineering experience with ServiceNow development and platform engineering.\nStrong experience with ServiceNow CMDB, Configuration Management, and ITOM capabilities.\nHands-on experience with ITOM Discovery, Service Mapping, MID Servers, and Discovery troubleshooting.\nExperience implementing and supporting CSDM, preferably CSDM 5 or later.\nExperience improving CMDB governance, reconciliation, data quality, and operational adoption.\nExperience building and supporting integrations with enterprise platforms such as Workday, AWS, MuleSoft, Dynatrace, Tenable, and other cloud and operational systems.\nExperience with APM, TBM, ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, or related ServiceNow modules preferred.\nStrong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, application architectures, and technology dependencies.\nExperience working in Agile delivery environments.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.\nDemonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and influence cross-functional teams.\nExperience mentoring software engineers and providing technical leadership within an Agile team.\nStrong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, automation, CI/CD, and secure development principles.\n Principal Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nServe as the technical lead for the enterprise ServiceNow CMDB, driving architecture, governance, and continuous improvement.\nLead CMDB modernization efforts, including CSDM 5 alignment, data quality initiatives, and CMDB adoption.\nDesign, develop, and maintain ServiceNow CMDB solutions, CI models, and relationship mappings.\nLead ITOM Discovery and Service Mapping activities, including MID Server management, discovery tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.\nDesign and support integrations between ServiceNow and enterprise platforms, including Workday, AWS, MuleSoft, Dynatrace, Tenable, monitoring tools, and other strategic systems.\nSupport integration of CMDB data with Application Portfolio Management (APM) and Technology Business Management (TBM) platforms.\nDevelop ServiceNow automations, workflows, configurations, custom applications, and platform enhancements.\nPartner with infrastructure, security, cloud, architecture, and application teams to establish a trusted system of record for enterprise technology services.\nEnsure solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards and best practices.\nProvide technical leadership, mentorship, code reviews, and guidance to engineers across the team.\nParticipate in Agile planning, estimation, solution design, testing, and continuous improvement activities.\n#LI-TS1\n~IN1\nOur company is built on helping individuals and families, and this starts with our employees.
