Join us.\nGeneral Summary:\nSenior UX Designer and design leader focused on creating intuitive, customer-centered digital experiences that drive engagement and business impact. Experienced in leading cross-functional teams to translate customer needs into innovative web, application, and digital solutions that balance usability, accessibility, and visual excellence.Brings deep expertise in user experience strategy, interaction design, and design best practices, ensuring consistent, scalable experiences across products and value streams. Recognized for combining strategic thinking, customer empathy, and strong leadership to create exceptional digital experiences.\nThis is a campus-based position that requires 3 days per week onaite.\nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities\nHelp define and oversee the UX process across Unum, ensuring best practices are employed across different teams\nActively feed ideas and suggestions on how to improve the UX for Unum’s customers to the AVP User Experience, and work with that person to refine and roll out best of breed practices to all teams.\nHelp set and police standards across different teams\nDefine and reinforce adherence to Accessibility Standards\nWorks both as a team member on individual UX assignments for the majority of the time, but will help provide cross-team support, standardization, best practices and interconnection.\nPartners with business Product Owner, CX roles, Scrum team members, and subject matter experts to support the development of user interfaces that are implementable on the web.\nDevelops user interfaces that will bring an exceptional and consistent user experience across multiple digital platforms that are consistent and reinforcing of the corporate brand.\nTranslate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups and prototypes that lead to intuitive and excellent user experiences.\nFacilitate the Execution Team Lead’s vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user-testing experiences for digital products.\nDesign and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mockups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces.\nTake a user-centered design approach and rapidly test and iterate your designs.\nActively bring in ideas from other industries and companies that would benefit Unum’s client base.\nResponsible for pattern and style libraries and keeps them updated and maintained.\nCreates screen shot mockups and/or prototypes for usability testing and requirements gathering.\nEnsures that the user experience is applied consistently by overseeing the use of brand guidelines, color, font, icons and other artifacts, and ensures compliance with Accessibility Standards.\nMonitors best practices, AI trends and new technologies and evaluates them for possible adoption.\nJob Specifications\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent, relevant business experience\n6+ years of experience designing user experiences and interaction design for rich interactive web sites and/or applications\nBe passionate about resolving user pain points through great design.\nExcellent communication and influencing skills - able to present and win approval for concepts from senior leadership.\nAbility to work on many projects and team in parallel.\nBroad range of experiences from different industries and practices\nExceptional user interface and experience design skills and an understanding of user-centered design disciplines and principals, as well as an eye for subtle detail\nPassion for results - bringing forward new methods or tools to help advance the user experience.\nClearly demonstrates analytical ability and critical thinking skills\nProven experience designing for multiple devices, such as mobile and tablet\nExcite and inspire teams to prioritize the end user in the work that they do\nExpert using Lucid, Figma, Figma Make, enterprise design systems, Condens, Jira/Rally, Monday.com, Microsoft Teams/M365, Co-pilot and other AI-assisted design tools, usability testing, rapid prototyping, responsive design, WCAG 2.2 AA/accessibility testing, HTML/CSS fundamentals.\nAbility to work as part of an Agile team and influence business partners, Product Owner, development team on the need for strong UX design\nA solid understanding of modern web technologies and interaction patterns and experience in designing complex solutions for complete digital environments including mobile-first and responsive design.\nInsurance background beneficial\nExperience in participating on project teams and ability to clearly and effectively communicate design processes, ideas, and solutions to teams and clients.\nAbility to resolve issues and conflicts with team members\nPossess effective communication skills, both verbal and written\nOperates with a sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines.\nSelf-starter and detail-oriented, passionate about all things UX and other areas of design and innovation.\nResearch and showcase knowledge in the industry’s latest trends and technologies.\nDevelop and promote Accessibility standards across the organization.\n#LI-Hybrid\n#LI-Multi\n~IN1\nOur company is built on helping individuals and families, and this starts with our employees.
