Headquartered in Miami, with offices in New York, London, Berlin, and Shenzhen, our 240+ team brings deep expertise across e-commerce, brand management, consumer retail, operational scaling, and M&A.\nSince inception, we have acquired 30+ brands across Pet Care, Personal Care, Home Care, Supplements, Baby & Juvenile, Garden & Outdoor, Sports & Fitness, and Home & Lifestyle - completing 20+ acquisitions and delivering 16 consecutive quarters of like-for-like organic growth post-integration.\nOur competitive advantage lies in a fully integrated operating system purpose-built to transform digital brands into omni-channel category leaders. Powered by a proprietary technology stack built on NetSuite ERP with 200+ data integrations, our platform enables brands to thrive across marketplaces, direct-to-consumer channels, and brick-and-mortar retail.\nWe focus on acquiring digital-first brands within carefully selected verticals, then applying tailored value creation playbooks that drive growth through innovation, expansion, and automation. We believe the next generation of consumer brands will be built differently - and we're building the AI-enabled retail tech platform to help them consolidate and win.\nRole Overview\nWe are hiring a Business Development Manager to own wholesale growth for a premium baby and layette brand. This role is focused exclusively on premium distribution: department stores, luxury and better specialty, high-productivity independents, and boutique wholesale.\nThe work is split between (1) deepening and professionalizing existing premium partnerships and (2) designing and selling expansion programs that open the right next doors without diluting brand positioning. The ideal candidate brings live relationships with premium baby/juvenile buyers, experience running independent sales representatives who cover specialty and department doors, and the discipline to work cross-functionally with merchandising, supply chain, finance, compliance, and marketing.\nThis is a player-coach role. You will personally own key premium accounts and line reviews while leading a of independent reps. Success is measured by quality of doors, program design, velocity and sell-through, forecast accuracy, and the strength of buyer relationships - not door count for its own sake.\nWhat You Will Own\nPremium Account Leadership\nOwn assigned premium accounts across department store, luxury specialty, better specialty chains, and high-productivity independent boutiques.\nBuild and maintain direct relationships with category buyers, planners, and merchandising leadership; prepare seasonal line reviews, assortment architecture, and presentation books.\nProtect brand standards at retail: assortment depth vs. breadth, visual presentation, pricing integrity, and which doors are (and are not) a fit.\nMonitor account-level velocity, inventory position, markdown risk, and service issues; intervene early with the retailer and internal ops.\nNegotiate terms, seasonal programs, and co-op within approved guardrails; decline distribution that undermines premium positioning.\nProgram Design for Premium Expansion\nDesign door-opening and in-store programs built for premium retail-not a one-size sell-in.\nExamples include seasonal capsules, door-specific color stories, fixture or shop-in-shop concepts, gift-with-purchase and registry moments, and limited exclusives.\nBuild a 12-18 month expansion plan that sequences the right next accounts (heritage department, luxury specialty, top independents) rather than maximizing raw door count.\nCreate sell-in tools that match how premium buyers buy: look books, fabric/hand-feel stories, assortment grids, margin and turn scenarios, and visual merchandising guidance.\nLead partnership conversations from first meeting through executed vendor setup and first order, including item setup and any retailer-specific presentation requirements.\nRepresent the brand at relevant premium and juvenile markets and convert meetings into a qualified pipeline.\nMaintain a documented pipeline with stages, next actions, and close dates; report weekly on activity and conversion quality.\nIndependent Sales Representative Management\nRecruit, onboard, set goals for, and manage independent sales reps covering department, specialty, and independent boutique territories.\nPrioritize reps with existing premium baby, layette, or better-specialty books.\nProvide look books, samples, talking points, competitive context, and seasonal line training so reps can sell the brand at the right altitude.\nSet clear activity and revenue expectations; run regular pipeline reviews; coach underperformers and reallocate coverage where doors or brand fit are weak.\nCoordinate market and showroom appointments; keep reps aligned on pricing, minimums, exclusivity, and brand standards.\nResolve territory questions and protect house accounts; document commission structures and performance against plan.\nCross-Functional Execution\nPartner with supply chain on allocation, lead times, and service levels appropriate to premium retail (presentation quality, smaller drops, seasonal timing).\nWork with finance on forecasts, program ROI, and margin after retailer terms.\nCollaborate with product and merchandising on capsules, colorways, pack architecture, and door-specific or exclusive assortments.\nAlign with marketing on look-book content, in-store storytelling, events, and retailer.com / editorial requirements.\nCoordinate with compliance and quality on labeling, claims, CPSIA / tracking labels, packaging, and any department-store vendor requirements.\nServe as the internal voice of the premium buyer: translate feedback into product, presentation, and service changes.\nForecasting, Reporting & Retail Analytics\nDeliver rolling sales forecasts by account and style; flag inventory and production risk early.\nPrepare weekly/monthly reporting: bookings vs. plan, ship vs. order, sell-through, returns, and pipeline quality.\nUse retailer portals and available POS to diagnose performance and prioritize actions.\nOwn CRM hygiene for accounts, contacts, opportunities, and activity.\nIdeal Candidate Profile\nRequired Experience\n5+ years in wholesale sales or business development for a premium or better brand, with a substantial portion in baby, juvenile, layette, infant apparel, or a closely adjacent premium category (nursery, home textiles, or designer kids).\nDemonstrated ownership of premium retail accounts: department store and/or luxury or better specialty. Comfort presenting at line review and building a seasonal assortment story.\nHands-on experience recruiting, managing, and holding accountable independent sales representatives who cover specialty and department doors.\nProven ability to design and sell programs - not only take replenishment orders - and to open doors that fit the brand. •Experience working cross-functionally with operations, inventory, finance, and compliance in a lean brand environment.\nBachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field, or equivalent career experience.\nWillingness to travel for accounts, markets, and trade shows (typically 25-40%, with seasonal peaks).\nNice to Have\nThese are not required to apply. They are the signals that usually separate a strong premium hire from a generalist wholesale seller. Candidates who bring two or more of the following will move to the front of the process.\nActive or recent relationships with baby / layette / kids buyers at premium department stores (Nordstrom and peers) or recognized luxury and better specialty accounts.\nExperience taking a heritage or digitally native premium brand through a department-store line review cycle and landing a multi-door or expanded assortment.\nA track record designing in-store programs that belong in premium retail: shop-in-shop or fixture programs, seasonal capsules, registry or gifting moments, trunk shows, or limited exclusives.\nIndependent-rep or showroom relationships already covering better specialty and department doors in baby, juvenile, or related home/textile categories.\nRegular presence at ABC Kids Expo or equivalent juvenile / premium kids markets, with a professional network among buyers and independent reps.\nFamiliarity with department-store vendor mechanics (line-review cadence, planner partnership, portal reporting, presentation standards) without a mass-retail operating background as the primary experience.\nProduct fluency in premium textiles or layette (hand-feel, fiber stories, giftability, layette architecture) so conversations with buyers go beyond price and door count.\nExperience rebuilding or tightening distribution after a brand has been over-placed-saying no to the wrong doors and trading up the account mix.\nComfort with CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot, or equivalent) and simple forecast models in Excel; Retail Link or mass-portal expertise is not expected.\nHospital gift, luxury gifting, or specialty registry program experience as an adjacency to core wholesale.\nCapabilities & Working Style\nPolished written and verbal communication; buyer-ready decks and disciplined follow-up.\nJudgment to protect brand and margin while still closing the right doors.\nOrganized operator: can run a personal account book, a rep network, and internal workstreams without dropped balls.\nData-literate enough to use velocity, turn, and forecast variance to prioritize time.\nLow-ego collaborator who owns problems that sit between sales, product, and ops.\nSuccess Measures (First 12 Months)\nA documented premium-account plan and qualified pipeline (department, luxury/better specialty, and top independents).\nAt least one designed expansion or in-store program sold into an existing or new premium partner.\nRep coverage map in place, weighted toward premium doors, with an activity cadence and\nperformance scorecard.\nMonthly forecast (bookings and shipments) that operations and finance can plan against.\nMeasurable improvement in velocity and presentation quality at existing premium doors.\nBuyer relationships that survive a line-review cycle and produce a clear 12-month assortment path.\nunybrandsis an equal opportunity employer and considers all applicants for employment without any regard to race, skin color, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, and age. Nor are applicants discriminated against based on disability or protected classes.","description_format":"text","description_chars":10498,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Wholesale","Children's Clothing","Commerce","Investment Holding Companies"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-10-06T01:14:02Z"}],"visa":[{"country":"US","licensed_sponsor":true,"evidence":"Filed H-1B visas in the last two years","filings_12m":0,"filings_prev_12m":1,"green_card_filings_12m":0,"median_offered_wage_usd":null,"route":null,"cap_exempt":false,"checked_at":"2026-10-15T11:24:14+00:00","sources":["US Department of Labor: LCA disclosure data (H-1B, H-1B1, E-3)"],"filings_for_role_12m":0}],"liveness":{"score":86,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.86,"p_room":1,"age_days":13,"expected_fill_days":70,"reasons":["conf:2","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-19T05:45:15Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/unybrands-business-development-manager","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/unybrands-business-development-manager.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-19T17:56:37Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":13816,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-10-20T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":450114},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=450114"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Funybrands-business-development-manager"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Funybrands-business-development-manager"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Funybrands-business-development-manager"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/unybrands-business-development-manager\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Funybrands-business-development-manager"}]}
