We believe the next generation of consumer brands will be built differently - and we're building the AI-enabled retail tech platform to help them consolidate and win.\nAbout the role\nAs an Interim Accounting Manager (until February), you will lead our GL/AR/Inventory team and coordinate the monthly close across our legal entities under IFRS and in NetSuite for a multi-entity organization. \nAlongside the close, you will own actuals-based controlling and recurrent process improvements. You will report to the Sr. Director of Global Accounting and Finance Operations and lead a small team of accountants.\nMain responsibilities\nOwn the month-end and year-end close end to end across all entities, including the close calendar in Jira, checklist and sign-off, coordinating deadlines and handovers across time zones.\nReview and approve journal entries.\nEnsure timely balance sheet reconciliations, with documented review and sign-off.\nCoordinate intercompany reconciliation and matching across entities, ensuring balances are fully matched and eliminated ahead of consolidation.\nPrepare the monthly group consolidation under IFRS, including intercompany and equity eliminations in NetSuite.\nReport close status, open issues and close KPIs to stakeholders.\nMaintain year-round audit readiness: ensure reconciliations, journal support and close documentation meet audit standards, and align the audit timetable with the close calendar.\nSupport documentation of accounting policies and controls.\nWhat you will bring\nWe know great candidates don’t always tick every box. If this role excites you but your experience doesn’t match every point below, we’d still love to hear from you.\nAround 5 or more years of experience in accounting and/or controlling, ideally in e-commerce or consumer goods. Inventory reconciliation experience is a big plus.\nA degree in accounting, finance or a related field, or equivalent vocational training and experience. Professional qualifications are a plus.\nExperience coordinating a multi-entity, multi-currency month-end close.\nSolid IFRS knowledge.\nHands-on management accounting experience.\nExperience leading or mentoring people, and the ability to lead in a distributed, cross-time-zone team.\nNetSuite experience is a strong plus. Confident Excel skills are important, and experience using AI tools (e.g. Claude) is a big plus.\nAn analytical, detail-oriented and pragmatic approach to improving processes.\nFluent English (our company language). German is a plus.\nHow we work\nThis is a hybrid role based in Berlin. You will combine 2 set days in our Berlin office, working face to face with the team, with regular remote working.
