What your work will look like: - Design, build, test, and operate cloud-based microservices (Java/Spring Boot, Kafka) - Write automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) as an integral part of your daily work - Contribute to product design by writing technical specifications - clear enough to guide both engineers and AI agents - Use AI-assisted development (coding agents, AI code review, spec-driven workflows) in your daily work and help us evolve how we use it - Work with the Unzer Tech standards and processes and help us improve them - Be actively involved in team and organizational knowledge-sharing What you need to be successful in this role: - 5+ years of experience with Java 21+ and Spring Boot - Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems and distributed systems - Experience with SQL databases (schema design, migrations); NoSQL is a plus - Experience with microservices, event-driven messaging (Kafka, Avro) and Git-based workflows (feature branches, pull requests, code review) - You diligently test (ideally test-first/TDD) and document your deliveries - Experience in architecture design (e.g. Domain-Driven Design) and common design patterns - Exp
