Starting from gateways, through merchant onboarding and offboarding reaching the billing systems and debtor management solutions of Unzer.\nWhat your work will look like:\n- Design, build, test, and operate cloud-based microservices (Java/Spring Boot, Kafka)\n- Write automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) as an integral part of your daily work\n- Contribute to product design by writing technical specifications - clear enough to\nguide both engineers and AI agents\n- Use AI-assisted development (coding agents, AI code review, spec-driven workflows)\nin your daily work and help us evolve how we use it\n- Work with the Unzer Tech standards and processes and help us improve them\n- Be actively involved in team and organizational knowledge-sharing\nWhat you need to be successful in this role:\n- 5+ years of experience with Java 21+ and Spring Boot\n- Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems and distributed systems\n- Experience with SQL databases (schema design, migrations); NoSQL is a plus\n- Experience with microservices, event-driven messaging (Kafka, Avro) and\nGit-based workflows (feature branches, pull requests, code review)\n- You diligently test (ideally test-first/TDD) and document your deliveries\n- Experience in architecture design (e.g. Domain-Driven Design) and common design patterns\n- Experience with observability tools such as Coralogix or OpenTelemetry\n- Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants/agents (e.g. Claude Code, GitHub Copilot):\nyou use them productively and critically review, test and own the code they produce\n- Hands-on mentality\nNice to have:\n- Frontend experience with Angular\n- Know-how in delivering software to the AWS cloud platform\n- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and GitOps (e.g. Argo CD)\n- Experience building agentic workflows (MCP integrations, custom agent skills,\nAI steps in CI such as automated PR review)\n- Experience in regulated environments (payments, PCI-DSS, GDPR)\nWhat’s next?\nDoes it sound exciting? - Apply with your CV in English.
