Role Overview:

We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator with strong hands-on Netezza experience to support a data warehouse ecosystem comprising Netezza, Oracle, SQL Server and other database technologies. This is primarily an Application DBA / L2-L3 Support role focused on project delivery, database deployments, operational support, performance troubleshooting, security administration and database activities across Development, QA, UAT and Production environments.

Database Environment:

- Netezza

- Oracle

- SQL Server

- DB2

- Oracle Exadata

- Oracle RAC

- Data Warehouse / OLAP environments

Key Responsibilities:

Application DBA Support:

- Provide L2/L3 application DBA support.

- Support database deployments and environment activities.

- User provisioning and security administration.

- Database access and permissions management.

- Ticket management and issue resolution.

- Backup and recovery support.

- Performance monitoring and troubleshooting.

Performance Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

- Locking and blocking issues.

- Diagnose job and environment issues.

- Review database logs and monitor CPU/storage.

- SQL performance troubleshooting.

- Long-running jobs and data processing failures.

Build & Deployment Support:

- Review code changes and merge code into GitHub.

- Execute database deployment scripts.

- Support QA and UAT deployments.

- Troubleshoot deployment issues.

Project Support:

- Support approximately 10 active applications.

- Work across multiple projects simultaneously.

- Participate in Agile delivery teams.

- Collaborate with Project Managers, Data Engineers, Scrum Teams, Product Owners and other DBAs.

Administrative Responsibilities:

- User provisioning and access management.

- Security administration.

- Account unlocks and permission requests.

- Ticket queue monitoring.

- Backup and recovery support.

Required Skills:

- Strong hands-on Netezza DBA experience.

- Application DBA / L2-L3 support.

- Database deployment and release support.

- Performance monitoring and SQL troubleshooting.

- Locking/blocking and long-running job troubleshooting.

- User access and security administration.

- Backup and recovery support.

- QA/UAT environment support.

- GitHub and ServiceNow/Jira experience.

- Data Warehouse / OLAP experience.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management.
