It’s about the environment, the atmosphere and the people - creating that sense of home that will help students feel safe, secure, and help them thrive.\nHere at UPP we have an opportunity for a Multi Skilled Technician (Electrical) to work as part of our team at Nottingham University in providing both a planned and responsive maintenance service specialising in electrical and mechanical repairs.\nThis is a permanent full-time position working 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday.\nThe salary for this role is up to £38,110 per annum dependant on experience and qualifications.\nPlease note that a current manual UK Driving Licence is essential for this role.\nKey responsibilities include:\nUndertake maintenance within the residences in a safe working environment, assessing all Health and Safety issues before work commences and report any hazards identified to the relevant Manager.\n\nCarry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement and provide front line response for all plant and installation work.\n\nCarry out Planned Preventative Maintenance in accordance with the scheduled works & liaise with specialist sub-contractors.\n\nMaintain accurate records of breakdowns and maintenance repairs, including records for statutory compliance.\n\nCarry out statutory testing including fire alarm testing, emergency lighting tests, ad hoc PAT testing as required and others, as required.\n\nReport any Health and Safety issues relating to the residences ensuring all information is passed to the relevant persons.\n\nTake the lead in electrical stock management (ordering, storage, distribution) ensuring appropriate parts are held and available to meet SLA timescales for repair.\n\nAssist team colleagues in other trades as and when required and assist with team development including cross-trade skills sharing.\n\nYou will need to be a fully qualified electrician with one of the following essential qualifications City & Guilds 236 / 2360 / 2330 / 2356 / 2357 to Year 2 or level 3 (dependant on qualification) or equivalent EAL electrical qualification to Year 2 / Level 3\nIdeally you will have additional qualifications including City & Guilds 2382, The 18th Edition Wiring Regulations and City & Guilds 2391 (or equivalent) in Inspection & Testing, although not essential worked in a similar role and environment.\nYou will also possess great communication, IT, and organisation skills, along with the passion to do a great job.\nPlease be aware that should you be shortlisted you will be required to bring your qualification certificates to interview.\nIn addition, you will have a good understanding of the operational procedures and safe working practices of building services and systems as well as good understanding of health and safety, with the ability to always work in a safe manner.\nYou will also be prepared to work (with notice) additional hours when the needed, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.\nWe truly care about the experience of our residents and invite you to join our friendly team and help make a positive difference to students living away from home in our accommodation.\nIn return, we are offering a fun and interesting environment to work in with a competitive salary and a great benefits package which includes 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, life insurance, pension, training, two paid volunteering days each year, cycle to work scheme, store discounts, as well as discounts from a variety of top retailers, restaurants gyms and more.\nUPP welcome all applications and recognise the value of having a diverse and inclusive culture, which reflects the communities we work with and has a positive impact on our people, our student residents, and our university partners.\nWe understand all disabilities, impairments and conditions are unique, so please advise us of any adjustments which would support you through our recruitment process and help you to thrive at work.\nOur core values of Innovation, Sustainability, Community, Partnership and Respect, are fundamental to our culture and summarise what is important to our business and our people.\nWe are a team with energy, pace and passion;
