If you have the qualities and drive to lead yourself or teams, there are roles ready to cultivate your skills and take you to the next level.\nJob Description:\nJob Summary\nThis position maintains a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient fleet of vehicles, both ground support equipment and street vehicles. He/She ensures proper use and care of physical assets, helps prevent equipment failures, controls costs, manages external vendor relationships, works closely with auto mechanics and internal customers, and performs regular equipment and facility audits. This position monitors fleet vehicle equipment maintenance. He/She maintains automotive cost effectiveness by identifying trends, monitoring key expense indices, and identifying and implementing cost-saving strategies. This position supervises mechanics within the department.\nResponsibilities:\nSchedules preventative maintenance inspections and reviews the results, monitors repairs, and performs vehicle audits to ensure mechanics adhere to safety, regulatory and appearance standards. \nAnalyzes equipment or vehicle system failures to determine root causes and resolve problems, and plans and coordinates equipment repairs with internal and external groups.\nEnsures adequate inventory levels (e.g., parts, tires, etc.) to support business processes.\nAdheres to purchasing limits, expense approval procedures, and equipment disposal guidelines to remain within cost plan.\nReviews and approves automotive expenses.\nDetermines employee training needs to produce continuous development plans.\nConducts performance evaluations and resolves individual and group performance issues.\nRequirements:\nMust reside within the geographic area of the job or willing to relocate- relocation assistance not offered\nMust be able to work Monday-Friday but flexible based on business needs\nMust be able to work midafternoon shifts- start time roughly 2pm-3pm\nQualifications:\nKnowledge of mechanical fundamentals, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair to vehicle or aircraft fleet operation \nAbility to manage equipment repair and oversee the correction of problems with tools, machinery, and other standard technical equipment \nAbility to manage inspections, physical assets, and working relationships with vendors \nGrade Level 20E\nDeadline to Apply: September 1st; 11:59pm - internal applicants only\nEmployee Type:\nPermanentUPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.\nOther Criteria:\nUPS is an equal opportunity employer.
