In this role, you will facilitate customs clearance activities by reviewing shipment documentation, identifying discrepancies, preparing customs entries, and ensuring compliance with Canadian customs regulations and government requirements.\nThe successful candidate will work closely with customers, customs authorities, overseas offices, carriers, and internal teams to support the timely movement of international shipments while maintaining a high level of accuracy and service.\nLocation: 900 HANWELL ROAD FREDERICTON, NB\nJob Type: Full-Time,Temporary\nShift: Monday to Friday |10:00am to 6:30pm\nScheduled Hours: 40 hours per week\nHourly Wage: $18,25/hr.\nDuration: Until March 23, 2027\nKey Responsibilities\nReview commercial invoices, shipping documentation, and customs paperwork for accuracy and completeness.\nPrepare and submit customs entries in accordance with applicable regulations and procedures.\nApply tariff classifications and verify shipment information to support accurate duty and tax assessments.\nInvestigate and resolve documentation discrepancies by communicating with customers, foreign origins, and internal teams.\nMonitor customs clearance activities and follow up to ensure timely release of shipments.\nCoordinate freight movement and delivery arrangements with carriers and operational partners.\nRespond to customer inquiries regarding customs requirements, shipment status, and clearance processes.\nMaintain accurate shipment records and perform data entry within brokerage systems.\nSupport audits, compliance reviews, reporting, and administrative activities as required.\nBuild and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.\nAssist with process improvement initiatives and operational support activities.\nQualifications\nRequired\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nStrong administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\n Bilingualism (English and French) strongly preferred\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and data entry systems.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.\nPreferred\nExperience in customs brokerage, transportation, logistics, international trade, or a related administrative field.\nKnowledge of customs operations, import/export procedures, and government regulatory requirements.\nUnderstanding of tariff classification and Harmonized System (HS) codes.\nExperience reviewing commercial documentation and resolving discrepancies.\nPrevious customer service or client-facing experience.\nSkills & Competencies\nCustoms and Trade Compliance\nDocumentation Review and Accuracy\nCustomer Service Excellence\nCritical Thinking and Problem Solving\nCommunication and Relationship Management\nData Analysis and Verification\nTime Management and Prioritization\nTeamwork and Collaboration\nRegulatory Compliance\nWhy Join UPS?\nGain valuable experience in international trade and customs brokerage.\nWork for a global leader in logistics and supply chain solutions.\nDevelop expertise in customs regulations, compliance, and international shipping.\nJoin a collaborative team focused on operational excellence and customer success.\n__________________________________\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature of the work required for the position and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities.\nAll candidates must successfully complete a series of interviews in order to qualify.
