This position troubleshoots and maintains/repairs various systems including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electronics, and engines. He/She performs other tasks as requested.\nIdeal candidate will possess the following:\nCurrent documented tractor shifter mechanic experience \nExperience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer \nPossess a full complement of personal hand tools \nResponsibilities & Duties:\nMeet D.O.T requirements and be CDL qualified as required by job assignment \nBend, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb ladders and stairs, stand, walk, and turn/pivot frequently throughout the duration of the workday \nFull time: 8-10 hours per day, 4-5 days per 7-day week \nReport to work on a regular and timely basis and complete the scheduled workday on a consistent basis \nAbility to work varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs \nSitting required infrequently throughout the duration of the workday \nLift, lower, push, pull, leverage, and manipulate equipment and/or packages weighing up to 70 pounds \nAssist in moving packages or equipment up to 150 pounds \nSimple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks \nOperate standard/manual transmission \nOperate power, pneumatic tools \nRequired to wear personal protective equipment \nWork in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions), exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather \nWork cooperatively in a diverse work environment \nHave a sufficient ability to communicate, through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions \nBasic Qualifications:\nU.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. \nMust have your own complete set of hand tools \nMust have experience completing repairs and or body work on trailer or dolly equipment. \nMust be at least 21 years of age. \nClass A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) - Preferred at the time of hire.A CDL license must be obtained within the first year of employment.\nEmployee Type:\nPermanentUPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.\nOther Criteria:\nUPS is an equal opportunity employer.
