In our industry this position is also known as Plant Mechanic or Industrial Mechanic. This position is responsible for a broad range of maintenance activities that are performed to keep UPS package handling facilities operating efficiently and effectively. The work can be fast-paced and requires routine interaction with other operations employees.\nJob Type: Full-Time, Permanent\nWork Location: 1010 Honeyspot Road, Stratford, CT 06615\nWork Shift: TBD*most likely 3rd Shift\nKey Responsibilities:\nInspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates\nTroubleshooting, adjusting and replacing AC and DC electrical equipment such as batteries, control stations, fuses, motor starters, relays, switches, timers and PLC\nInspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing pneumatic equipment such as flow splitters, diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses, and coils\nInspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and/or replacing hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps\nWelding equipment such as handrails, conveyor supports, package handling equipment, carts, and grating\nPerforming preventive maintenance inspections of plant equipment such as conveyors, bulk carts, and power industrial equipment\nRequirements:\nSuccessful completion of required testing\nExcellent interpersonal skills\nAbility to demonstrate mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills\nProficient in the safe use of common shop tools and equipment\nExperience in performing maintenance on conveyor belts is an asset\nKnowledge of electrical and building schematics is an asset\nEmployee Type:\nPermanentUPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.\nOther Criteria:\nUPS is an equal opportunity employer.
