The system includes autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), robotic workstations, charging equipment, conveyors, sensors, scanners, storage systems, and related controls.\nThe successful candidate will utilize mechanical aptitude, basic electrical knowledge, and troubleshooting skills to inspect, maintain, repair, and support automated equipment while ensuring safe and reliable operation. This position requires working around automated machinery, using diagnostic software, responding to equipment issues in real time, and performing scheduled preventive maintenance. The role also requires flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and overtime as business needs dictate.\nKey Responsibilities\nMaintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair automated material handling equipment, including AMRs, robotic workstations, conveyors, sensors, scanners, charging systems, and associated controls.\n\nDiagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues using schematics, diagnostics, fault codes, and maintenance procedures.\n\nRespond to equipment failures, robot faults, communication errors, sensor issues, jams, and other operational disruptions to minimize downtime.\n\nPerform preventive maintenance, inspections, cleaning, adjustments, and component replacements in accordance with company standards and manufacturer recommendations.\n\nSupport robot charging infrastructure and assist with recovery or removal of disabled equipment from active operating areas.\n\nIdentify recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective or preventive maintenance actions.\n\nDocument maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and parts usage in CMMS and other required systems.\n\nMaintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.\n\nCollaborate with Operations, Engineering, technical support teams, and equipment vendors to resolve complex issues.\n\nAdhere to all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE requirements, and safe interaction with automated equipment.\n\nRequirements:\nMechanical aptitude with basic electrical and automation knowledge.\n\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment drawings, and technical documentation.\n\nExperience using hand tools, power tools, meters, and basic diagnostic equipment.\n\nBasic computer proficiency, including use of diagnostic software and electronic work order systems.\n\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\n\nAbility to work in a fast-paced distribution or industrial environment.\n\nAvailability for weekend maintenance coverage, overtime, and additional hours as needed.\n\nMust reside within the geographic area of the position.\n\nMust be flexible to work various shifts on a 4-day/10hours: M,Tu,F,Sa 1st Shift/Mon-Thurs 1st Shift/ M,T,Sa,Su 2nd Shift/ Tu-F 2nd Shift\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience maintaining automated material handling systems, robotics, conveyors, manufacturing equipment, or warehouse automation.\n\nExperience with Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs), Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), or Goods-to-Person systems.\n\nExperience troubleshooting sensors, motors, batteries, chargers, scanners, and automated equipment.\n\nExperience using a CMMS for maintenance planning and documentation.\n\nTechnical education, military technical experience, or coursework in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, robotics, electrical systems, or automation.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nRegular standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, lifting, and working around moving automated equipment.\n\nAbility to safely perform work while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).\n\nComfortable working in a physically demanding and fast-paced operational environment.\n\nJob Grade: A16\nDeadline to apply: October 9th; 11:59PM\nEmployee Type:\nPermanentUPS is committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.\nOther Criteria:\nUPS is an equal opportunity employer.
