The Trailer Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance on UPS Transportation Trailers and Converter Dollies. Will properly diagnose and perform necessary repairs to non-power equipment, including air brake systems and electrical systems.\nAutomotive Technicians must be skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining various systems, including hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls.\nAutomotive Technicians must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location’s need. Automotive Technicians must possess the required hand tools required to perform the applicable job assignment.\nResponsibilities and Duties\nMeets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment\n\nBends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday\n\nSits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday\n\nExercises simple hand grasping, power hand grasping, fine hand manipulation, and reaching from foot level to above shoulder level as necessary to complete assigned tasks\n\nOperates standard and manual transmission\n\nOperates power and pneumatic tools\n\nRequirements\nMust have an active driver’s license issued by the state\n\nMust be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shifts, including Monday through Friday, Sunday through Thursday as well as Tuesday through Saturday schedules, depending on the location’s need.\n\nMust possess the required hand tools required to perform the applicable job assignment.\n\nKnowledge and Skills\nCurrent documented automotive mechanical experience\n\nExperience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and personal computer\n\nPossesses full complement of personal hand tools\n\nClass A/B or A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.\n\nDependable with ability to report to work on a regular and timely basis and complete scheduled workday on a consistent basis\n\nAvailable to work varying shifts, additional hours and/or overtime depending on service needs\n\nWears personal protective equipment as required\n\nWorks in an environment with variable temperatures and humidity (climatic conditions), exposure to cleaning materials, petroleum products, dust, dirt, and noise, outside inclement weather, etc.\n\nWorks cooperatively in a diverse work environment\n\nCommunicates effectively through sight, hearing, and/or otherwise, to perform assigned tasks and maintain proper job safety conditions\n\nOur compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The starting pay for this position is $39.04 per hour.
