We have become a game changer for teams around the world who look to Upstart’s services as a differentiator.\nJob Description:\nWe are seeking a Technical Delivery Manager (TDM) to own delivery execution and outcomes across assigned client engagements. This is a senior delivery leadership role that combines delivery ownership, project management, and people management.\nThe TDM partners closely with the Customer Success Manager (CSM). The TDM owns technical delivery, execution quality, planning, and team performance, while the CSM owns the business relationship, client communication, and account health. Together, they ensure delivery commitments are met and client outcomes are achieved.\nReporting to the Head of Delivery, the TDM leads one or more delivery engagements and serves as the primary owner of delivery health, execution cadence, and team effectiveness for those accounts.\nResponsibilities\nDelivery Ownership & Execution:\nOwn end-to-end delivery for assigned engagements, including planning, execution cadence, scope control, quality, and on-time outcomes.\n\nRun delivery rhythm (sprint planning, backlog management, execution tracking, releases) and maintain delivery forecasts, risks, and dependencies.\n\nEnsure adherence to engineering standards, agreed technical direction, and delivery processes.\n\nOwn business-to-technical translation for the engagement, converting client business problems into clear technical direction and ensuring alignment on outcomes and value.\n\nFacilitate and deliver engaging product demonstrations to customers, ensuring clarity and alignment with their needs and expectations.\n\nProject & Program Management:\nAct as the primary delivery lead, fulfilling and extending the traditional project management role.\n\nOversee resource allocation and capacity planning across concurrent engagements.\n\nImplement delivery governance, KPIs, and reporting to ensure visibility, predictability, and accountability.\n\nIdentify, manage, and escalate delivery and technical risks, removing impediments to execution.\n\nMaintain awareness of delivery economics, proactively identifying risks to scope, margin, and account health.\n\nPeople Management & Team Development:\nServe as people manager for delivery team members (or team leads on larger engagements), owning coaching, performance feedback, and career development.\n\nFoster a healthy, accountable team culture focused on ownership, quality, and continuous improvement.\n\nContribute to performance, compensation, and growth decisions in collaboration with leadership.\n\nCross-Functional & Client Collaboration:\nLead the client narrative and stakeholder conversations, opening and steering discussions, setting and managing expectations, and reframing in real time when needed.\n\nPartner closely with Customer Success Managers to align delivery execution with client expectations, communication cadence, and account goals.\n\nCollaborate with Solution Architects, QA, DevOps, and other shared services to ensure effective, executable delivery.\n\nAct as a primary escalation point for delivery and execution-related issues with internal teams and client stakeholders.\n\nFrame delivery progress in terms of business value and outcomes, not only task completion, ensuring clear articulation of the “so what” in all communications.\n\nStrategic & Account Growth Contribution:\nCarry commercial awareness for the engagement, monitoring margin, utilization, and account health signals.\n\nSurface risks and opportunities early, contributing to overall account strategy and long-term client success.\n\nProactively identify and frame opportunities for innovation, including AI use cases within client engagements, and bring them forward to stakeholders.\n\nSuccess Measures:\nOn-time, high-quality delivery of client commitments.\n\nPredictable delivery execution with controlled scope and risks.\n\nHealthy team performance, engagement, and development.\n\nStrong delivery economics, including utilization and margin protection.\n\nClear, proactive communication with internal stakeholders and customers.\n\nDemonstrated impact on client outcomes, including business value realization and identification of growth opportunities.\n\nQualifications\nTechnical skills: \n8+ years of experience in software delivery environments, with significant responsibility for delivery execution and team leadership.\n\nStrong understanding of modern software development practices, system design principles, and architectural patterns.\n\nHands-on experience delivering projects in agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, or similar).\n\nFamiliarity with any cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP) and modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD concepts.\n\nProven ability to manage delivery planning, execution, and risk across multiple concurrent engagements.\n\nProficiency with delivery and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent).\n\nSoft skills: \nDemonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing technical teams.\n\nComfortable acting as a people manager, including providing feedback, supporting growth, and contributing to performance and compensation decisions.\n\nStrong communication and collaboration skills, particularly in partnership with Customer Success and cross-functional teams.\n\nAbility to make sound decisions under pressure while balancing delivery speed, quality, and commercial outcomes.\n\nTrusted leadership presence with the ability to lead through clarity, accountability, and influence rather than authority.\n\nBonus skills: \nBachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.\n\nProven leadership experience in the Data and Analytics field.\n\nExperience in technology consulting, professional services, or SaaS environments.\n\nExperience managing distributed or remote teams.\n\nRelevant certifications (Agile,
