Each solution will be implemented, on schedule, in a cost-effective and professional manner.\nThe Senior Design Engineer will act as the primary design engineer on projects and may lead project teams consisting of other Design Engineers. The Senior Control System Engineer will independently lead the design phase of the project from inception to completion through interpretation of specifications, design engineering, selection of components, creation, and checking of drawings, and resolution of problems. Technical leader with a high degree of knowledge in the HVAC control design field and recognized expertise in the control theory for specific systems.; problem-solving frequently requires analysis of unique issues/problems without precedent and/or structure. May manage projects that require formulating strategies and administering policies, processes, and resources with a high degree of autonomy.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\n1. Ensure that the project requirements and risks are understood by:\nAttending sales turnover meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate and project\nscope.\nAnalyzing project plans, specifications, sales estimates, and sales proposal.\nCreating a list of project engineering deliverable (submittals, workflow packages, etc).\nGenerating Request For Information (RFI) requests.\n2. Ensure that final product matches the design intent and clearly communicates design and operation of system by:\nCreating controls drawings utilizing AutoCAD software that include flow diagrams,\nsequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, schedules and electrical\nschematics as required.\nChecking controls drawings created by other engineer for accuracy and compliance with\nproject scope and provide feedback.\n3. Make final decisions regarding installation method and materials by\nSelecting the appropriate mix of products and installation methods to provide the most\ncost-effective solution that is compliance with the project specification, applicable codes\nand company standards.\nReviewing and approving the purchasing bill of materials for projects.\n4. Select the proper control valves and actuators that will do the best job of controlling the process is selected by\nInvestigating the applicability of different valve styles and sizes to a particular application,\nwith showing a preference to control valves manufactured by Honeywell.\nCompleting and submitting a comprehensive and accurate control valve schedule in a\ntimely manner.\nReviewing and approving control valve schedules for purchase.\n5. Design a stable, robust, implementable, scalable, and maximum performing BMS communication network by\nDetermining network architecture, topology and transmission media that is appropriate\nfor the installation and conforms to the latest network standards and project specification.\nSelecting network components (such as servers, switches, routers) that support operator\nworkstations, DDC field panels, third-party integration devices connected via Lonworks,\nEthernet, Modbus or BACnet communication protocols.\nProducing network wiring diagrams and network addressing documents that provides a\nclear picture of the design in a timely manner.\n6. Get approval from the customer or consulting engineer on installation methodology and materials by\nPreparing submittal documents that demonstrates that the proposed materials, etc., that\nare in compliance with the contract drawings and specification.\n7. Ensure successful procurement of electrical subcontractors by\nPreparing electrical sub-contractor buyout documents that clearly defines the electrical\nscope of work\nWorking closely with the project manager\n8. Maintain relationship and develop trust with internal and external customers by:\nMaintaining commitments made to the customer.\nEscalating more pressing customer issues as necessary to Department Manager.\nCommunicating technical concepts/solutions in writing and verbally.\nRequirements\n1. Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) software.\n2. Knowledge of Autodeck AutoCAD software\n3. Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory.\n4. Knowledge of the elements and building blocks of HVAC controls\n5. Knowledge of damper actuator and control valve sizing and selection.\n6. Knowledge of the control strategies and logic that can be used to provide optimum operation of plant level HVAC systems (such as chillers, boilers and air handlers).\n7. Knowledge of the control strategies and logic that can be used to provide optimum operation of supplemental HVAC systems (such as VAV boxes, fan coil units and unit heaters).\n8. Knowledge of supervisory control strategies for the overall operation of the BMS (such as life safety control, electrical demand control, etc)\n9. Knowledge of BMS communication protocols and network topologies. General understanding how these protocols are implemented with specific knowledge of installation and configuration best practices.\n10. Knowledge of Honeywell DDC product offering.\n11.
