The role focuses on database reliability, security, disaster recovery, performance analysis, and close partnership with engineering teams.\nEnterprise experience strongly preferred.\nKey Responsibilities\n- Maintain high availability and strong performance across production database systems.\n- Plan, test, and carry out disaster recovery procedures with a zero-data-loss objective.\n- Maintain database security, access controls, and adherence to security protocols.\n- Analyze and tune database performance and diagnose difficult production performance issues.\n- Work closely with engineers on requirements gathering, system design, design reviews, performance tuning, and technical support.\n- Administer operational data systems in a highly technical production environment.\n- Deliver reliable work under tight deadlines and remain composed during high-pressure incidents.\n Must-Have Skills\n- Approximately 3 to 4 years of hands-on database administration experience.\n- Experience with both Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL; deeper expertise in either platform is acceptable.\n- Hands-on AWS experience, particularly Amazon RDS and Amazon Aurora.\n- Programming experience with PowerShell or Python.\n- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.\n- Experience administering and troubleshooting Confluent Kafka.\n- Extensive experience with database performance analysis and tuning.\n- Experience administering high-function, high-availability production systems.\n- Experience planning or performing disaster recovery.\n- Strong ability to diagnose difficult database performance issues.\n- Experience working closely with engineering teams through requirements gathering, design reviews, technical support, and deadline-driven delivery.\n- Experience with database access control and security practices.\nNice-to-Have Skills\n- Experience building Kafka connectors and topics.\n- Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.\n- Experience with Snowflake.\n- Experience with other relational databases such as MySQL.\n- Advanced Kafka experience, including KSQL and Flink.\n Required Tools & Platforms\n- Microsoft SQL Server and Aurora PostgreSQL.\n- AWS, Amazon RDS, and Amazon Aurora.\n- PowerShell or Python.\n- Terraform or comparable Infrastructure as Code tooling.\n- Confluent Kafka.\nLocation, Time & Engagement\n- Candidates must be based in an eligible Latin American country.\n- Central Time working hours are preferred.\n- Remote contract engagement, 40 hours per week.\n- Expected engagement through March 31, 2027;
