This role translates business requirements from Inventory Science and Merchandising into technical specifications, establishes data standards, and validates that configuration and data flows work as intended across web, mobile, and internal systems. The analyst serves as the subject matter expert (SME) on Nuuly's product data and attribution model, and helps teams troubleshoot issues. This role participates in the scrum process and partners closely with Business Systems Analysts and engineering teams to deliver reliable merchandising infrastructure.\nRole Responsibilities\nServe as SME for product setup, category and assortment definition, promotion creation, onsite search, and pricing\nPartner closely with Inventory Science and Merchandising teams to gather, clarify, and validate business requirements\nDefine and maintain standards and documentation for product data, attribution model logic, and merchandising configuration\nWrite technical requirements for new features and enhancements that affect product, promotion, search, or pricing data, establishing reusable patterns for consistent application across development\nParticipate in sprint planning, refinement, and story breakdown sessions; partner with Business Systems Analysts during execution; and conduct UAT on merchandising functionality before deployment\nValidate data accuracy and consistency across platforms (web, mobile, internal tools) and audit existing configurations to identify gaps, inconsistencies, or opportunities for improvement\nTroubleshoot product, promotion, search, and pricing issues and coordinate resolution with technical teams\nProvide guidance to BSAs and engineering teams on merchandising technical requirements\nRole Qualifications\n1-3 years of experience in merchandising systems, product data management, ecommerce operations, or technical business analysis roles\nWorking knowledge of product catalog structure, category and assortment management, promotion logic, site search, and pricing in an ecommerce or subscription-based business\nUnderstanding of attribution models and how product data feeds reporting and inventory planning\nStrong technical writing skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical requirements\nDetail-oriented, with strong QA and testing skills and the ability to identify patterns and establish reusable standards\nProficiency with SQL and BigQuery for data validation and testing\nWorking knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, and modern web and mobile app architecture; familiarity with JSON and API testing tools such as Postman\nExperience with JIRA and Confluence\nPractical experience using Large Language Models (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for work tasks, including prompt engineering and structured AI guidance methods (system prompts, rules files, agent configurations)\nKnowledge of AI tool integration concepts (MCP, connectors, agentic workflows), with the ability to identify where AI can improve efficiency\nEffective communication across technical and non-technical audiences; self-directed, able to manage multiple priorities, and comfortable working in Agile Scrum environments with cross-functional teams\nExperience with search engine optimization (SEO) and answer engine optimization (AEO) is a plus\nThe Perks\nURBN offers comprehensive Perks & Benefits to employees.
