We are looking for a candidate who will build and maintain features to enhance our systems, as well as serve as a deeply technical guide to our business team as they adopt features built by all engineering teams. Your goal will be to allow for seamless scalability of our production infrastructure and apply your technical expertise to help preclude growth concerns before they occur.\nIn this role, you will have the opportunity to build a breadth of experience with Kubernetes, Kafka, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). As a DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on GCP and managing containerized applications using Kubernetes. The ideal candidate should have more than 3 years of hands-on experience in DevOps practices, with a strong emphasis on GCP services and Kubernetes orchestration, and some experience in asynchronous message brokers (like Kafka & RabbitMQ). You will play a crucial role in optimizing our cloud environment and streamlining our development and deployment processes. This role will impact Nuuly's overall success and growth, driving our scalability, reliability, and efficiency.\nRole Responsibilities\nA typical week at Nuuly in this role may involve:\nDesign, implement, and manage scalable and highly available cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform, including Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Networking, and Confluent Kafka.\nCollaborate with software development teams to establish efficient CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth and automated application deployments.\nImplement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to maintain the health, performance, and security of the cloud infrastructure.\nCollaborate with our engineering team to optimize our Kafka message broker to support our event-driven architecture and enhance system performance.\nWork with cross-functional teams to identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimize the overall system performance.\nEnsure the security of the cloud infrastructure and applications, implementing best practices and staying up-to-date with the latest security threats and mitigations.\nCollaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to infrastructure, deployments, and applications.\nDevelop and maintain documentation for the infrastructure, deployment processes, and troubleshooting guides.\nStay informed about the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies, Kubernetes, and DevOps practices, and propose relevant improvements to our infrastructure.\nRole Qualifications\nQualifications\nMore than 3 years of hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a strong focus on cloud infrastructure.\nKnowledge of streaming data and distributed systems design with asynchronous message brokers like Kafka.\nFamiliarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager.\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\nStrong communication and teamwork abilities.\nJob Skills\nDesigning and managing cloud infrastructure on GCP; including virtual machines, storage, networking, and IAM.\nManaging Kubernetes deployment, monitoring, scaling, and troubleshooting.\nMaintaining our CI/CD pipelines with GCP and GitHub Actions.\nUnderstanding of essential Kafka components like Zookeeper, Brokers, and optimization of Kafka client applications (Producers/Consumers).\nProficiency in YAML and experience with writing structured configuration files for infrastructure management and application deployment.\nProficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Shell.\nStrong understanding of containerization and orchestration concepts.\nKnowledge of cloud security best practices and compliance standards.\nThe Perks\nURBN offers comprehensive Perks & Benefits to employees.
