This position is NOT ELIGIBLE for employer visa sponsorship.\nWhat will you do?\nStatutory Accounting\nServe as a subject-matter expert on Statutory Accounting Principles (SAP), including interpretation of codification, application to complex transactions, and guidance for internal partners.\nReview and analyze quarterly and annual statutory filings, including financial statements, MD&A, and supplemental schedules.\nConduct proactive research on emerging statutory guidance; monitor SAPWG activity, industry developments, and regulatory trends, and communicate impacts to leadership.\nSupport the statutory audit, including technical SAP analysis, codification checklist review, and coordination of audit responses.\nAssist with state examinations and ongoing regulator communications, including holding company filings, dividend notifications, and multi-jurisdictional requirements.\nSupport regulatory review related to group reinsurance structures, new business initiatives, and U.S./international reporting considerations.\nProvide clear, well-supported explanations of balances, reconciliations, processes, and conclusions to auditors and management.\nSenior Accounting Review & Oversight\nReview complex investment, cash, and general ledger reconciliations for completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation, with a strong understanding of data flow into statutory statements.\nInvestigate and resolve out-of-balance conditions, unexplained variances, and inconsistencies across multiple data sources.\nWork across multiple systems and data feeds, validating data integrity and resolving discrepancies between source systems and the general ledger.\nReview and enhance Excel-based workpapers, schedules, and analytical reports with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and audit readiness.\nKey Leadership Role Within Finance\nCollaborate with Finance managers, auditors, legal partners, and senior leadership on reporting, analysis, and technical accounting matters.\nProvide guidance to team members on complex reconciliation research and financial questions.\nEnsure thorough documentation of accounting rationale, reconciliation methodologies, and financial controls.\nEvaluate existing processes, identify control gaps or inefficiencies, and recommend or implement improvements with a risk-aware mindset.\nOperate independently with limited supervision while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.\nWhat are we looking for?\n Bachelor's Degree in related field (Accounting, Finance or other related field). MBA orCPA is a plus.\n5+ years of insurance accounting experience, with significant exposure to NAIC Statutory accounting (required).\nDemonstrated experience working with regulators, statutory audits, and insurance filings.\nStrong background in:Investment, cash, and general ledger reconciliations\nVariance analysis and root-cause investigation\nMulti-source data reconciliation\n\nAdvanced Excel skills, including:Creating workbooks from scratch\nDesigning summary schedules for large data sets\nPivot tables, lookups, and logic-based formulas\nImproving efficiency and accuracy of reporting tools\n\nProven ability to document controls, processes, and accounting conclusions clearly and thoroughly.\nExperience working under tight deadlines, including extended hours during close and year-end reporting.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with:Accountants\nFinancial administrators\nAuditors\nRegulators\nManagement\n\nWho would excel in this role?
