As an intern on a small, fast-moving team, you will be challenged with supporting the dynamic environment of propulsion design, development, manufacturing, test, and production. As the Additive Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will support laser powder bed fusion part development and production at Ursa Major. You will learn and apply metal 3D printing knowledge by supporting the daily team operations by preparing build files, operating LPBF machines, supplementary equipment and post processing builds. The AM Intern will apply learnings from the everyday process to the design, modeling, and printing new support/modeling strategies and contribute to a comprehensive design guideline and geometry library. \nThis position will be full-time. \nResponsibilities: \nSupport LPBF component manufacturing at Ursa Major \nDevelop guidelines for more standardized support structure and general modeling strategies \nCreate a library of standard witness and mechanical specimen geometries \nWork alongside the additive technicians to operate LPBF machines and post process builds \nAdditive manufacturing build file setup and programming \nRequired Qualifications: \nPursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Materials, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering \nHands on design and operation in any category of 3D printing \n3D CAD experience \nDesired Experience \nExperience with metal additive manufacturing in the aerospace and/or defense industry \nExperience preparing build files and operating laser powder bed fusion machines \nExperience with Siemens NX \nColorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $30.00/hour, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
