We must continue to build in-house capabilities in energetics, ballistics, and composites with an emphasis on novel designs focused on manufacturability and high-rate scalability. \nPosition Overview: As a Solid Rocket Motor Manufacturing Engineer at Ursa Major, you will play a crucial role in the production of cutting-edge solid rocket motors. You will be responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process, ensuring product quality, and optimizing production efficiency. This position requires a strong background in aerospace engineering, materials science, and hands-on experience with solid rocket motor manufacturing. \nKey Responsibilities: \nDesign, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for solid rocket motors. \nOversee the production of solid rocket motors, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and performance standards. \nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, testing, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless integration of manufacturing processes. \nDevelop and implement process control methods to monitor and improve production efficiency and product consistency. \nConduct failure analysis and root cause investigations to address manufacturing defects and improve product reliability. \nEnsure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in rocket motor manufacturing. \nPrepare and maintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes, procedures, and specifications. \nTrain and mentor manufacturing technicians and junior engineers in best practices and safety protocols. \nStay up-to-date with advancements in materials, manufacturing techniques, and aerospace industry trends. \nQualifications: \nBachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). \n3+ years of experience in solid rocket motor manufacturing or a related aerospace manufacturing field. \nStrong understanding of solid rocket motor design, materials, and manufacturing processes. \nProficiency in CAD software and manufacturing process simulation tools. \nExperience with process control, quality assurance, and failure analysis methodologies. \nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. \nStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. \nKnowledge of industry standards and regulations related to rocket motor manufacturing (e.g., NASA, DoD, ASTM). \nPreferred Qualifications: \nExperience with composite materials and propellant processing. \nFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies. \nHands-on experience with automated manufacturing systems and equipment. \nColorado law requires us to tell you the base compensation range of this role, which is $86,000 - $108,000, determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
